I live in Pittsfield and work nearby. I have heard the best things about Bigg Daddy's and kept meaning to try it, but kept forgetting. It's easy to miss, situated in the back of a building on North Street. But I'm so glad I remembered. I had the best Steak & Cheese of my life. From the steak to the bread and grilled peppers - loved it all. Their fries are good , too, and I love that they have containers of chopped watermelon in the cooler with the sodas. Their menu is more than steak & cheese. There are other subs/hoagies/grinders to choose from as well as an assortment of burgers and wraps. My friend got a chicken wrap and liked it very much - it comes with your choice of fries or a salad. They have a lot of different appetizers (cheese steak eggrolls, loaded tots, fried pickles, eggplant fries ..... and more!) and I plan to return to start trying some of them. They also have wings and salads, so if you're trying to watch your carbs you don't have to run screaming from here. There's even a kid's menu. The service is SWIFT (my order was ready in 5 minutes ... and no, they're not like steak-umms) , and the staff are personable and efficient. The atmosphere is okay - nothing you have to see to believe, but not a hole-in-the-wall with wood paneling and stuff. The floor is checkered , the walls gray , and there are unremarkable tables and chairs with a booth or two. They offer delivery as well.

A group of colleagues from work decided to meet at the Proprietor’s Lodge for a couple of drink and dinner. We were a large group of 9 and were seated promptly. Our drink orders were taken and before I knew it, I was sipping on a pretty decent pomegranate margarita. I subbed out the house tequila and had them make it with silver patron since I’m a bit of a tequila snob. I enjoyed two of these cocktails while I was there. We started with some wings and nachos for the table. Buffalo wings were good, but the garlic parm wings weren’t my favorite. Just a bit on the soggy instead of crispy side and the seasoning wasn’t the greatest. Loved the loaded nachos. We placed two orders and everything disappeared from those plates. I had the frutti di mare with fra diavolo sauce. I thought it was tasty. Large portion, I had to take the rest home with me so I could squeeze in dessert. So if you order the mud pie dessert, be forewarned that this is huge. We ended up passing it around the table so others could help polish off the plate. Real whipped cream was delicious and the mocha ice cream was outstanding. After dinner we heading out to the deck as the sun was just beginning to make it’s way down the sky. It’s a lovely setting outside, but what a bummer that alcohol cannot be served there. I had visited this restaurant a few months ago and was definitely not impressed. I think they are working out the kinks and this visit showed a lot of improvement. The noise level is still up there, so this is definitely not a quiet spot to enjoy a relaxing dinner. The food improved since the last time I was here, but the presentation of the food still needs a bit of work. The prices are up there. You can really put a dent in your wallet eating here.

This place is overrated, The steak was tough, the vegetables were cold, our waitress bungled every part of the meal, no water on the table, only after we asked, everything was a chore to get or she forgot about it, then we had to remind her. over priced, under cooked. we'll try somewhere else
