One of my rules for dining is....if a restaurant features a baked potato, and does not have butter, only has margarine, to dress the potato...leave. Just leave. It's like a horror movie when the house is screaming "GET OUT!" Just go somewhere else. If they are getting the baked-potato-and-butter thing wrong, they will get everything else wrong as well. You can be pretty sure they are cutting every corner (as far as quality is concerned) they can possibly cut. I broke my own rule at Ribeyes, and it was an enormous mistake. The dining room seemed clean except for food debris on the floor, and the service was adequate.Unfortunately, one of our group was a vegetarian. Nothing really for him to eat...he ordered the grilled cheese, which would have been OK with him, if it had been a decent grilled cheese. It was the worst grilled cheese ever made...dry toasted bread with one tiny slice of cheese that wasn't even close to the size of the bread ($7).This isn't really the restaurant's fault, but when I went to the salad bar, it was surrounded by the rudest group of (adult) people I have ever seen...shoving and elbowing each other (I guess they all knew each other so they thought it was funny...it wasn't) and grabbing food with their hands. Salad bar was OK...straight out of the 1970s but not as good.I had pork chops. They were over-marinated/over-tenderized so the texture was not like meat but more like tofu. The flavor was OK, but the sodium level was astronomical... The veggies were "fine" but totally bland. It's amazing to me that this place remains open. I guess there is a huge demand for terrible food in the greater Cape Carteret area.

I don't like wraps. What's wrong with home made bread? Wraps are sometimes gummy, not dry as the Lord intended. Any way that's the only way they do steak sandwiches and the description looked so good , that's what I ordered. Can you believe they have 3 kinds of wraps? I chose the whole wheat since I was not sure about tomato bread or whatever. Man, it was just super, like their regular steaks and soups and salads. Best restaurant in town for most foods. Bob Ross

This turned out to be a little gem. Small but clean with white tablecloths which gave it a nice feel. I knew I wasn't dining at Jackie's but instead was looking for a small, quick place to get a good meal. The waitress was fun -- joking and kidding with us and with the table behind us. Once nice little touch was a cheese spread with crackers for starters (at no charge!). The salad was what I was hoping for: not "bagged" lettuce thrown in a bowl, but a real, live fresh salad. I opted for fried shrimp and chose to "upgrade" my potato to the "house" twice baked. We even ordered dessert which was yummy. If you're looking for upscale, fine dining, don't go. If you're looking to take your family, eat a good meal in a nice little family restaurant at a good price, go. The only thing that could have been better was the wait time to get our check ... we noticed there is no cash register and our waitress adding the check up herself. We will return ...
