Poivre Rouge

We ate here simply because it was close to our hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was fine - we weren't looking for fine dining after a 400 mile drive, just sustenance and a few glasses of wine before collapsing into bed - and the Poivre Rouge ticked all the boxes. We wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.Dear Daniel F, We appreciate your visit and have taken the time to share your positive experience. We are delighted that the service has pleased you and will not hesitate to send your opinion to our team. We look forward to welcoming you back home. The team RESTAURANT PEPPER RED COQUELLES

Buffalo Grill

... but I'm not sure why. The steaks are some of the best you will eat anywhere. The prices are ridiculously cheap, the service is good and the menu constantly changes. The French believe that these restaurants do not reflect French cuisine (and yet they flock here, every night of the week) and the English frown upon the cowboy theme and the very successful attempts to make a grown up restaurant child friendly. There is a separate play area, birthdays are celebrated and younger diners can enjoy such delights as candyfloss on a stick.Whether you have children or not, because seating is in booths, you won't A) worry if you are a parent that your children are not behaving or B) get annoyed that your meal out is being ruined by childen.Enjoy the food and drink and smile when you receive the bill. Thanks to the staff at the restaurant who booked a taxi for our journey home.

Courtepaille

Essentially this restaurant is the equivalent of a beefeater in the uk with similar prices and atmosphere. Its part of a chain but the principal difference I'd in the quality of the food. The steaks are delectable. Juicy and flavoursome they are reliably tender and satisfying. You get a welcome salad and bread on arrival which is a nice touch and you must try the grape must mustard. It's heaven. However the best thing at all is the chips. Hot, crunchy, plentiful, fresh and not over salted they are irresistible. This place is a fab location for a stop on your shopping trip to Calais with a good range of options on the menu at fair prices.
