This restaurant was recommended to us by a couple of policemen. We ordered some platos combinados which were really tasty and very good value for money. It was a Sunday lunch time and the place was so popular that people were queuing at the bar for a table.

It was a family visit with my two kids, my sister in law and my wife. Excellent food. We had "patatas with alioli" and another "tapa" with "gambas". This one was chosen by our wonderful waiter. Flavor and ingredients quality was incredible. I requested wine of the house and also was a really good one (I believe it was a tempranillo but really good). On top of the quality, the location is another plus: just in the plaza. My kids, nephew and niece enjoy the plaza. Tip: Every Wednesday there is an agreement made between all the Montblanc's restaurants to obtain a featured "tapa" at really good price.

We had an excellent meal here. Our host has spent quite a bit of time abroad and spoke excellent English. Dining details are as follows:Pa (2): â¬1.20Aigua (1): â¬1.70 Carles Andreu Cava Brut: â¬13.50Gatzara Trepat 2011: â¬9.50(we alway seem to have two bottles with dinner in Spain!)Croquetas de pollo <-- complimentaryAmanida de formatge de cabra: â¬9.00Canelons de la mar: â¬7.10Civet de senglar de les muntanyes de Prades: â¬12.00Magret d'à nec amb confitura de taronja: â¬12.50Brownie de xocolata amb gelat: â¬5.00Café (1): â¬1.50The only (slightly) negative I can point to was getting charged in USD rather than Euros (as I requested). The FX rate was not that good. (My bank does not impose foreign transacation fees.)Muchas gracias

If you look for a traditional "Fonda" (place where will you find traditional meals), this is not your place, but... If you are looking for a place, with many light (big windows), clean, modern..., this is sure your placeIn front of old city protection wall, in a open square, you can seat and enjoy views.Food is good, staff is extra and air on is also so good (today is really hot outside)I don't agree on price range, set menu is around 12 euros. (Probably if you go at night, could be higher. In Spain set menu is only applied on lunchtime , very rarely at dinner. In my opinion must be only 2 $$ not 3.And... Even I've give a 5, if you are a real gourmet, and wish to eat very good food, probably is not... But value for money is great, then I give them 5.

This restaurant just has the one option for Menu Del Dia which the day we went started with a vegetable/ bean aperitif with a vermouth, then the first course was humous with crudités vegetables, next rice with sea food very similar to paella and then desert of fruits in some kind of alcohol with fresh fig on top. All top quality and in first floor dining room. Seemed very popular with locals and staff really friendly. Thoroughly recommend.

Your first challenge is to find this place. We took the scenic route down a single lane track...not strictly necessary. The setting, architecture and decor all give strong hints that this will not be a mass produced experience. They take great pride in describing the credentials of their produce in some detail. The food, by and large lives up to the billing. Good, wholesome and tasty. The wine though is another matter. Give Greta Thunberg a couple more years and I am sure she will be singing its praises. Doubtless there are no chemicals used in the production and lots of trees were hugged. Unfortunately, despite opting for something with a few years maturity and described as full bodied, the taste was reminiscent of dilute Ribena with a dash of sherry. Bit of a shame really. I would have loved to be more complimentary given the other strengths of this place. Still, there are other wines on the list, so donât let that stop you.

Although they serve good quality meat and Catalan traditional meals, the price and service could improve substantially. we had to pay 1.3⬠for each piece of bread (when bread is always included in this kind of restaurants) and 2⬠for a coffee. It's understandable what you have to pay for a good meat but I find it ridiculous to have to pay almost 3⬠for a bread I almost did not eat. (Sparking water:3.3â¬, and they do not have wines under 14⬠almost)

We had a very pleasant stay at this B&B and decided to try the breakfast based on the glowing reviews for dinner and lunch. We were disappointed.Breakfast consists of toasted bread with butter and marmalade and fresh sliced fruit. Period. You get one cup of coffee. If you want a second (and who wouldn't?), there is a supplementary charge to the â¬5 (per person!) you're paying already. We went out to the main square the next morning and had a much better experience.
