The Recreo is a bit swanky and the perfect family Sunday Lunch restaurant, right on the river in a shady spot with plenty of parking. The location is good for anyone wanting to cycle or otherwise take advantage of the great leisure opportunities in Cuenca, before or after their meal, and it's full of well-off Spanish families taking Maman out to lunch. We had a lobster paella that was generous but expensive (of course.) But the staff were particulalry snobby. I'd go back but probably stick to the set menu - and I'd want to arrive in the Mercedes.

5 star! A sure repeat! Trust me, I've been around the block!!An amazing culinary delight! The chef's interpretations of traditional Castille cuisine is flawless in tradition, technique, and creativity. Homemade desserts(yummy!) Relaxed yet refined ambiance, hard to find good service like theirs these days. (Amuse Bouche, 3 Starters, Entree, Dessert and Coffee, 16€ (frankly! for a restaurant that's a cut above the rest, you can't beat that!!) 23.06.2018

We ordered an assortment of entrance dishes including two mixed salads. All these were shared among our eight guests who were visiting us from out of town. While these were being devoured the chefs were busy cooking the house specialty of baby suckling pig. These are only cooked to order so it took some time but the wait was worth it. We were so full and satisfied that we had to share some of their special desserts. The after meal coffee with cognac helped to make the outing a perfect one.

A bright clean and well run restaurant in the historic old town. The staff are very helpful and the food is amazing. I had a great leek and partridge starter followed by excellent sea bream. The dessert of mango and chocolate was really tasty. Excellent wine selection. If in Cuenca, this is a must!

Taberna Albero

My brother and I ate here 2 nights ago after seeing how well it was reviewed on tripadvisor. We each had an appetizer and main course and we were disappointed in all of them. The dishes ranged from boring to tasteless. It's a tiny place with very few tables, but I wouldn't call it charming - we sat next to stacked up flats of soda. The waitresses were very nice and the service was good, but it couldn't make up for completely uninteresting food.

We had a lovely evening here being well looked after by our waiter, Cesar. He was very good with his recommendations of wine and local cuisine. There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed the food we ordered. My personal highlight was the octopus on a bed of foaming potato; absolutely delicious. The meal was reasonably priced and we all left very happy. Would highly recommend.

We fortunately got the last table. When we mentioned we always pick different dishes and share, they offered to bring them one at a time, which they did without us ever being rushed. The waitress was charming. The kitchen ran like clockwork. Interesting wine selection without being overpriced. And the food was excellent. So much so that we are going to try the Tartar of red tuna and the brisket lasagna at home. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Sala Cinco CB

This small bar is a real surprise to the senses because it’s small but perfectly formed with just 6 tables and offers great food and drink. The menu is very comforting offering choice for everyone including salads, meats and a good assortment of different dishes from fish to a hamburger. But everything they have is delicious. I have been three times now an every time it has been great. Try the cecina salad or their black bun burger. Really tasty and well priced. They also have a good choice of beers and wines. If you are looking for a decent bar with top notch food this is the place. On behalf of the entire team of Sala Cinco,THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
