Very limited menu and almost nothing for vegetarians. However still the cook rustled up a meal for us. Menu options could improve...bit it's definitely a treat to eat here. Very quiet, as is the entire place and after the day crowds leave, this diner becomes even more exquisite

We visited the restaurant because the hotel Montserrat in Collbató did not offer a dinner on saturday night. There was a tournement going on, so it was a cosy sportive atmosphere.Although most tables were reserved for the players, they arranged a table for two because we did not want to eat inside.A good choice from two different cards, reasonable prices and attentive service. The quality was above expectation for a restaurant on a sport campus and we really enjoyed it.

Called in here after visiting Montserrat with a group of 4 adults and 2 kids.Beautiful building, with interesting items and photos on the walls. Easy parking and easy to get back out onto the road. The staff were helpful and friendly, knowing enough English to help us with the menu. The food was superb - the sausages being the best we have ever had, and we are sausage aficionados! The snails, were not as good as we thought, but we are used to them in garlic, not a tomato based sauce. The cannelloni and salmon/prawn crepes - oh man, delicious!A very good meal, and very good service, you should definitely try here if you are in the area. Prices reasonable considering what you get and what other places in Barcelona were charging.

We visited the Monserrat Monastery by car and it was one of the restaurants on the way down. We had passed other restaurants just mins from it, but they were either too crowded or doesn't take reservations. While they were busy, they let us in without reservations so it was a good sign about the warm hospitality we were about to experience.Being Asian, we didn't know what is the best local food to order, but there was a very nice lady who spoke English and was very helpful to explain to us what's on the menu, what she'd recommend/prefer and also she seemed to be in charge and made some very nice gestures which I will later elaborate. So eventually, we settled on the seasonal menu, which was value for money for starters/mains/dessert at 14 Euros with water and house wine included. They even served complimentary starters of some tasty potato salad and croquette with tuna, and bread which were delicious and we were partly full before our actual starters arrived. They also made sure our colleague who was muslim had no meat in the salad starter. So, if its attention and hospitality that you like for a restaurant this rustic local restaurant is a great choice. The food was good too, and while, its not going to win a Michelin star, all of us loved one dish or another. I had tail of monkfish which I suppose was pan-fried, and finished in what I guess was a reduced white wine sauce with rehydrated dried apricots and prunes. Monkfish was new to me, and it had a robust (not fishy taste) so it tasted fine overall. Another colleague ordered lamb which tasted good too. We did order an additional plate of fried calamari, where the batter was not deep fried to a usual crispy finish but came soft which we were not used to. We did not dislike either as the seafood was fresh. The seasonal salad was also very tasty and fresh, with goat's cheese, walnuts, raisin bursting with sweetness, some quince jam, and apple slices. We never got to dessert as we were stuffed due to the above average portions (for Asians anyway), and the lady proprietary or manager was kind enough to swap dessert with complimentary barista machine brewed coffee which we appreciated more being jetlagged and all. They have a good selection of desserts including a local cheese, the special catalonian cream, cakes (lemon and triple-chocolate cake), etc. Actually before we decided it was too much of a good thing for desserts (we saw the big portions of the local creme catayluna) she actually gave us a sample of a small slice of lemon mousse cake when I asked if it was not too sweet. It tasted light and had good lemon tangy balance BTW, and I was tempted to ask if I could have one more slice to share (but I didn't as that would be taking advantage of their fine hospitality since we agreed to replace dessert with coffee) while we had coffee. They even left us take away our bottle of house wine, but they had to pour it in a another empty plastic water bottle as they would recycle the glass bottle which we completely understand. The red wine was easy to drink, a fruity young wine with berry and floral notes and low tannin, which went surprisingly well with my fish.So many good points about feeling welcome and accommodating to your needs, we probably take a detour from the City again and come by this lovely restaurant.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at this sweet little restaurant. It is a family business and although not a lot of English is spoken, the son did describe the menu and help with our choices. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambiance. We liked the wine they served with lunch so much that we bought a bottle to enjoy later. The old town of Collbato is charming and the restaurant a real treat to find in a small village.Thank you so much for your opinion. It's great read about your visit to our little village and we hope see you again soon.

Some 25 friends including me chose this restaurant to celebrate a high school reunion and I really enjoyed the food, the space, the service. The owner, Xavier, made every effort to ensure the banquet was successful. This restaurant is located near the Montserrat mountains (a must-see) outside Barcelona. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Worth a stop on the way back from Montserrat, but do reserve a table in advance. Open for lunch daily, but dinner only on the weekends. We were staying at the attached hotel or would not have know about this fabulous restaurant. The food was amazing! And the prices on the fixed price lunch were unexpected given the quality of the food. 12.5 Euros for a fabulous 3 course meal with wine!
