Vell Papiol is a very nice fish restaurant just behind the seaside promenade in town. The staff made every effort to communicate, but it was tougher here than else where. The restaurant is very sophisticated for this area, and well designed. It is very popular with locals.The highlights were a delicious mussel dish and a fantastic monk fish .

My husband and I were driving from Barcelona to Tortosa in July and happened upon this marvelous little restaurant overlooking the sea. At the owner's recommendation we had a huge and succulent lobster, accompanied by a delicious chilled white wine, that became the best meal of our trip. We sat on the porch and enjoyed perfect service in a convivial atmosphere on the perfect July day. This is the sort of memory that makes travel so extraordinary. I highly recommend that anyone on this highway stop and find this remarkable spot!

Second time we eat there! Really good predominantly sea food. We had fideua de marisco, paella melosa de marisco (amazing seafood palla type of stew), fish, mussels, salad, pan con tomate, chiperones, calamares andaluza and kids menu. Everything was absolutely perfect! Actually we returned as we had most probably one of the best paella and fideua there. We were in Barcelona but 35 min drive is totally worth it. We always eat at the terrace but inside looked good too. Service was perfect too. Will return.We are so happy that you enjoy our paella and our fideua and our seafood!! We are very glad that you return and that you feel very good in our restaurant. Thanks for everything and you must to think our house is your house too!!

We visited this restaurant twice in the same week. We never reserved a table and always arrived just after they opened in the evening for dinner.The food is absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this place. We even spoke with the chef/owner who was pleased that we had enjoyed his food.Very, very good - an absolute must if you are staying in Calafell.

NoisySo much table for that small restaurant, the ceiling is not so much high and the noise is insupportable, forget to spend a comfortable talk while having a relax dinner, you are waiting for the bill to escape outâ¦.The service was poor, waiter ask for warm or cold water, later the serve that they want. The restarant is located on the boardwalk of Calafell. So there is always somethingbto watch. The staff speaks English and is efficient. The starters are meant to share. We made the mistake to choose each a starter and a main course. This was way to much. The starters are nice and inexpensive. The burgers have several toppings you can pick. The burger itself was a bit disappointing. It was not seasoned and had a lack of flavor. However we had a great time, and that is the meaning of a night out. If you do not want to have to wait in line make sure to be there at 8pm sharp.

Have eaten here a number of times before and the food with its Asian twist has always been good. Last night was better than ever with an exceptional tasting menu at â¬25 for 8 mini courses including a shot cocktail and homemade crisps an explosion of salmon, gyoza, foie gras, the best patatas bravas ever a truffle dish something with konbu and a delightful desert with chocolate soil!They also have a standard tapas menu which is very good but if you donât want the tasting menu then at least eat there special tapas.
