We had lunch with friends and ordered their Iberian hams, which the town is known for, what a treat!. The place was decorated with cork from the tables to the chairs, bar, etc. very unique looking restaurant. Everything in the restaurant had a traditional flair to it. The waiters were very helpful in suggestion the meals and it was delicious. Highly recommend this stop for lunch if your in the Alajar area.

We ate at this small restaurant on a recent visit to Spain. The building was old and beautiful, the bar was lovely, and the food was great. True gem.
My wife and I popped in to this restaurant on recommendation. The owner was busy chatting to the locals around the bar - and it showed!I was given (on her recommendation) a sort of layered meat and cheese dish in breadcrumbs, which when I cut into it was FROZEN in the middle. It was swimming in grease. She took it back and it returned suspiciously quickly (microwaved???) still cold in the middle. It was accompanied by some of the greasiest chips I have ever eaten. My wife's food was bland and badly presented. This is one of the worst places I have eaten in and certainly one of the poorest reviews I have had to post in a long time.DO NOT EAT HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

We ate here twice for lunch during a week's stay at Rio Molino Alajar casa rurales - 15 minute pretty walk into town. Owner and his wife (the chef) made us very welcome. Good, tasty food, well presented, and very good value. The meat dishes were particularly tasty - great T bone steak cooked rare and very tasty lamb cutlets. Good value wines. Try the white wine sangria made with peaches soaked in brandy - fabulous!

During the week, this is just a working man's bar with tapas, football on the TV. Not much English here (well, actually none), a couple of tables, but mostly standing at the bar. Wonderful local jamon on bread and pisto (an eggplant and vegetable dish). Wash it down with a glass of manzanilla dry sherry. Very pleasnar and a bit sleepy. On Sunday the square outside of full of lunching Spanish visitors and we actually saw a menu and had a few other tapas, all of which were just fine. This is an very modest and old-fashioned sort of place quite unaffected by modern tourism.

We arrived in Fuenteheridos really hungry and decided we would have lunch at the first restaurant we passed as we walked into town. We were so lucky that Biarritz was the first! We chose items from the menu del dÃa and everything was deliciosos. We were the only travelers there; the rest were locals and that is always a good sign. So if you are visiting the area, Biarritz is a great place for good food and good service.

Visit this jewell of small restaurant in an charming Sierra town. After a walk thru a white town we found this Michellin rated place. Very friendly and of an unexpected local food quality and charm. The owners and staff were very accommodating. The squash soup and the Iberico tongue dish were outstanding as it was the list of local wines. Worth the trip from Seville.

Excellent food, best of our trip so far. Pleasant view over tiled rooftops and hillside. Friendly but not intrusive hosts. Menu has English translation - which given complexity / specialism of dishes is really helpful. We had main-course size iberico pork dishes - cooked to perfection and portions that could hurt you. DO NOT EAT THE CHIPS - delicious but you won't make it to the end. They can only be there for decoration, surely??? If you think you can handle starters, the creamy tomato soup with egg is delicious... Yeah, who knew! Caramelised goats cheese also amazing. So sad we didn't discover this place on day one.

Nestled in a privileged place, in full nature in the center of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, Mesón El Molino de Alájar opens the doors of an old oil mill moved by water, where we can taste typical dishes of the Sierra Elaborated in a very spe
Had dinner here and ordered croquettes with Iberian meat and scrambled eggs with Jamon. The croquettes tasted like the oil that had been fried in were too old, and served on some industrial mayonnaise. The scrambled eggs were ok and nothing more. The waited seemed stressed even though the were few guests in the restaurant.

Both had lunch and dinner here. You can dine both inside and outside. The restaurant is popular so reservation is required, unless You are lucky. The food is simple but good. Presa Padrino is a cut from the black pigs neck. Fried medium rare (at the most) - You wan't believe it is meat from a pig when You se the beautiful dark color of the meat. Juicy and tender - try it!Congo with rosemary and lime was wonderfully flavored. The dishes are simple so they come only with fries, that are not worth eating, but there are plenty of meat. The wine celler has quite an impressive collection of fine spanish wine, that You would not expect to find in a small village. Some of the wines are fully mature and are for a very reasonable price. The temperature in the celler are not quite "celler temperature" more like 19 degrees, why I was reluctant to to try a bottle with more than 10 years of aging, as I found it a bit risky. But You can get 2008 Vina Ardanza, 2007 Pintia, 2005 La Rioja Alta and 2003 Vina San Roman for between 26 ⬠and 39â¬. You will need a bucket of ice water but I get so happy when I can get mature wines and a restaurant in Spain for less than a far from mature bottle bought in the wine store in Denmark...
