We had a great casual dinner here, and although the wait to be seated in the restaurant was over an hour, we seated ourselves right away in the large bar area (with teenagers) The sevice was prompt, we started with guac (that could have used more seasoning and delicious roasted corn (the best dish of the night!) Thee fish tacos were very good and the portions were large. The music in the bar was good but quite loud, not allowing for conversation.

El Cholo has been an institution in Los Angeles for a very long time, and this location is the Newport Beach El Cholo on PCH. Good Mexican food, not spectacular.

This Newport staple has a cool vibe, especially when the weather is nice and all the windows are open. As far as the food is concerned I give it a 7 out of 10 for Mexican food. Not the best there is but well above average.

If you want all you can eat tacos for dinner, skip this place. Go to the place closer to the bay with great ratings and a wait. If you want to get hammered on giant tasty margaritas donât miss this place! We went with teenage boys and they wanted to eat the all you can eat tacos and the offer is deceiving because of all the silly rules. They let you order 2 tacos (not fish) and they take your credit card to start a tab. Then if you want more you have to literally hunt down your waitress and you are allowed 1 more each...which take about 15 mins. Same process each time. I get that they donât want to waste food but when you are serving a family with teenage boysâuse common sense and let them start with 4. Taco Tuesdays at this place is simply a scam to get you drunk on half price but still $18 margaritas. If thatâs what you are looking for go! The tacos are bland and service is slow but Iâll give them stars for a really good mango Rita, good music and fun, open air ambiance.
