Dunderbak's Market Cafe

Celebrating a friend's graduation, she chose Dunderbak's for her celebratory dinner. Very good choice! We found the staff to be quick to please and the food was good. We tried the fried pickles for our appetizer, they were very good! Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Bavarian goulash which was fantastic. Beef was tender and the dish was delicious! Portion size was just right. Our only concern was some black stuff floating in our unsweetened iced tea. Based on another reviewer's comments, maybe management needs to take a close look at the beverage system and cleaning procedures? Substitute drinks were promptly delivered.I plan to return to Dunderbak's when in the area!Hi Kidsaregone,We appreciate your comments and for dining with us.It's always great to hear that our appetizers and dishes were great. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

While visiting our son and his fiance we were looking for somewhere for lunch nor far from downtown. Based on TA reviews we went here. Lots of food selections ranging from wraps and sandwiches to Ukranian food. We ordered an assortment of dishes, which they served family style for us. Everything we had was delicious. Well worth a stop.

We tried this restaurant a few years ago and were not impressed. We decided to try it again, after reading that Panera Bread had improved its menu. Well, we were not impressed with our meal again. My husband had a steak and cheese Panini sandwich. He said the bread was good, but that was about it. The meat had no flavor and he was not impressed with the cheese.I had a Chicken Cobb Salad and Onion Soup. The Onion Soup was a sad excuse for onion soup. The broth did not taste like soup made from real beef; more like a beef cube mix was used to make the broth and the broth was thickened like gravy. It was gross. It also had a slight sweet taste, so, I'll bet sugar was added. Very bad! A little bit of cheese was sprinkled on top and not stuck under broiler to melt the cheese. This was really a sad excuse for Onion Soup! The Cobb Salad, not a good salad at all. They could take a lesson for making a descent salad from Salad Works. The lettuce was limp and not crispy fresh, there was barely any bacon or tomato in the salad. The avocado was also very limited. The dressing was OK, but, not great.Over all, the salad was also a major miss for me.For dessert, I got a chocolate cupcake for my husband and I to share. The cake part was very dried out and there was so much icing and filling in this cupcake that it was just a gooey mess, and not in a good way. Also, when my husband tasted the cupcake, he shoved it back at me and said, "That is disgusting! It tastes like it has chemicals in it." So, we threw most of this mess of a cupcake away.Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
