Doc's Wine & Food

Reviewed By RRinOK

We went for a girls night last night, and I LOVED the shrimp and grits. All of the other entrees I tried from my friends were all yummy as well (pasta dish, risotto).I was VERY disappointed with the amount of food for the price. Everything was extremely overpriced. Especially the crab cake appetizer (that only comes with one crab cake) and we had a special app that was a poblano stuffed with chorizo (which was sparse on the filling, and the smallest poblano I’ve ever seen). The gumbo was TERRIBLE! It tasted like it was made with BBQ sauce. Not good at all. Tastes wise, the food is scrumptious. Price wise, it’s ridiculously overpriced. Dear guest, Thank you so much for coming in at Doc's. I'm happy to hear you had a great time.I apologize for the fact you didn't like our gumbo. We use a unique, dark roux based gumbo with both shrimps and andouille sausage. It's very thick and rich. we don't use barbecue sauce in it. Sorry again that wasn't to your liking. The appetizer special is a roasted poblano peppers over watermelon gazpacho. All the ingredients are carefully measured to reach the exact flavor profile that the chef was looking for, adding more or less of something would completely change the flavor profile of the dish, for example adding more chorizo would overpower the watermelon gazpacho and make it very smoky . The dish is meant to be a individual order. I apologize again if yours was too small.I'm very happy to know you enjoyed the food, but I have to strongly disagree on the fact the we are "ridiculously" over-priced. As a casual-fine dining restaurant we use the best quality food we can get and we are actually proud of not overcharging for our products. Our most expensive dish on the menu is our 6 oz Fillet Mignon for $33. grass fed, no hormones or all of that stuff. Other stake houses or grills that use our same product sell it for $40. Our fish produce is always fresh, never frozen, Fed-ex'ed directly to us everyday. Our crab cake is made of 6 oz of lump crab and it's only $14, in any other fine-dining or up-scale casual restaurant they sell them for around $20, our Tuna Tar-Tar made of 3.5 oz of sushi-grade tuna for only $15, other restaurant sell it for $18-22. For Happy Hour we sell our gulf oysters for $1 each which is very close to what we pay for. The shrimp and grits dish that you enjoyed is for $17, other restaurants in Tulsa that use our same shrimps charge up to $23 for shrimp and grits. We really make a huge effort to keep all the prices down so we can share amazing products for way less money then other restaurants that buy our same produce, so I was kind of shocked to learn our "price/portion/quality" ratio didn't meet your standards. Thank you again for your feedback, we need to know what our guest think in order to always improve. I will bring this issue up in the next manager meeting to the chef and the owner. Please contact us directly at [email protected] to talk more about this issue. If you would be so kind to give us a second chance we would like to make it up to you. Thank you again for coming in and I'm really sorry again your experience wasn't perfect.Best Regards

In our wildest dreams we didn't expect to find a very good seafood restaurant during our one-night stopover in Tulsa on our drive from Santa Fe to Chicago this week. The Trip Advisor reviews were good, so tired of steakhouses, southwestern cuisine and Mexican, we headed for Bodeans. Everything was good...my wife loved her trout and my sea scallops dish was excellent, and the service was first rate.

First time at Lassalle's and will be back if ever in the area again! Got the pick 2 of the shrimp Poboy and crawfish corn bisque. The sandwhich was great and the soup was pretty good. I probably wouldn't get the bisque again. Would try something else next time. Got it to go and it came out quickly. It was super crowded at noon. Check this place out if you are looking for something quick and good!

We had planned to eat somewhere else but roadworks and a GPS which couldn’t cope put an end to that. We had Nora’s down as another option and our GPS managed to get us there! And we were so pleased we ended up there. I had the Shrimp Creole and rice which was terrific with loads of veggies and great creole sauce. My wife had a dish with crab and shrimp which was equally good. Service was very good too.
