Consistently very good buffet with great variety. It was heaven for our taste buds with wonderful selections of Japanese fresh sashimi, hand rolls, sushi, soups, dishes, and Taiwanese/Chinese/Korean/Thai dishes choices. Desserts and drinks had a wide selection as well. They had beer, Sangria, and Cocktail all included in the fare. The only downside is no English translation on the drink menu. But no problem, my husband still got to enjoy the restaurant so much since he has me to help him. They also even have fresh cotton candy and popcorn for kids. You cannot go wrong with this Japanese Buffet even since they moved to this new high rise shopping building. Got to make a reservation. Very satisfying buffet dining. Highly recommended

Yi Ding is the perfect destination for shrimp lovers. Rows of tanks sit next to the entrance where thousands of live shrimp are kept in tanks. Choose from pages of shrimp recipes (most with photos) and place your order at the counter in back. Shrimp dishes are brought out as soon as they are prepared. For those used to American-style shrimp cocktails, note that most shrimp at Yi Ding are served complete with head and shell - yours to remove or eat with the meat. The Taoyuan location is one of about half a dozen in this local chain. It is just off the main highway leading to Taoyuan International Airport. Yi Ding is an excellent place for kids - mine consider it one of their favorite restaurants in Taiwan. Only downsides are that it is not cheap, a bit far from Taipei (there are closer locations that we haven't tried), and tables near the long windows are very chilly in winter. Yi Ding also serves lamb hot pot which we haven't tried, though it looks popular. For those looking for a family-style shrimp feast with local Taiwan flavor, Yi Ding will not disappoint.
