This is one of those places you'd walk by if it hadn't come highly recommended. Long-time residents of Sarasota recommended we eat here; at first, given the location, I didn't expect much. You don't normally find great restaurants in small, unassuming strip malls. Fresh Catch is an exception to the rule. It's a tiny place, and we sat at the bar. We always enjoy watching our food being prepared and so this was a real treat. The kitchen staff runs like clockwork. The result is outstanding, fresh seafood at a decent price. Highly recommend the lobster bisque and the crab cakes. The shrimp cocktail was good (the shrimp were large and I liked that they weren't ice cold, which usually takes away from the taste and texture). However, I found the cocktail sauce to be a bit too much like ketchup -- could have used a kick of horseradish sauce. Otherwise, a great place!

We love exploring places to eat in Sarasota. We went here for my wifeâs birthday. We had the chefâs special dinner. Pre dinner drinks done by Sean were adapted to our respective tastes. I love Manhattans and he suggested a chocolate bitters in place of my usual orange bitters. Fun difference. Coconut shrimp starter was great. We both had the triple tail (grouper)âone blackened and one with Crab shrimp. Robert, our waiter, had great suggestions. Both entres were wonderful Dinner desserts on this chef menu are shared. My wife had limoncello cake (comped because of her birthday) and I had the bread pudding (arguably among the best I have ever had including in England, the home of bread pudding). The food, the personal service with recommendations, and a quiet place to talk make this clearly a âgo toâ place in Sarasota. We are âhooked!âThank you so much for your wonderful review! The food was pretty good here but I thought some of it was a little pricey. Our waitress was really good and made several good recommendations on the food for us. We had fried pickles (excellent), calamari, mahi-shrimp combo, burger, grouper sandwich, chicken alfredo.

I ordered the house special fish sandwich. The lettuce was limp, the tomato was not fresh. It was tasty was overly greasy. My partner ordered the fried shrimp. Small portion for the value. Cheese grits were bland. The view was beautiful.Thank you for your visit and thank you for this feedback. Every time my wife and I go to this restaurant, we have a great time. The service is always first class. On this trip, Chase, our waiter, was friendly and extremely helpful. The food is always great and our favorite dish is the pan roasted diver scallops. We will definitely return.HI Brian, Glad you enjoyed Clayton's and that our server Chase did a great job for you. Three stars may be a little harsh, but definitely not worth 4 stars. The food was good... I had their Grouper Rachael and enjoyed it. But our two sandwiches took WAY too long to come out (probably 20-25 minutes). And while I don't mind paying premium prices for premium food, their $3.50 ice tea just can't be justified.

the curtains were up for the "indoor" patrons but with my 4 legged friend, we sat on the water and donned jackets! The waiter greeted Toby, the cute white furry friend and delivered water while bringing us adult beverages! next the order. Toby enjoyed "a waiter special" of several slices of cooked bacon and we dined on hot clam chowder and munched on chips and salsa! The service was THE BEST since I've been eating at Evie's! and Toby will want to return also!
