We chose this restaurant as we had been to the main branch the night before and were very impressed with the food and service. We did not have much time to decide or eat, so we all chose the "Daily Lunch Special" and it was a great bargain. 864yen for a great course of local food! The restaurant had a nice vibe (old Japanese style) and the staff were dressed well. They served our lunch in record time - thank you for the great service! I would definitely recommend this place to travellers from around Japan and from overseas.

Sangosho is a seafood restaurant a bit further out from Shirahama Beach about 9 minutes taxi drive. Specialty dishes here are fresh spider lobsters. Either grilled, sashimi or boiled. The best sushi so far on our trip in Japan! The luxe sushi set is really excellent. The family who run the restaurant are really friendly and speak a bit off English.

Stumbled across this tiny sushi bar one wet evening in Tanabe recently. Close to where we were staying in a machiya, away from the main restaurant precinct near the train station. The family running this restaurant was so lovely and welcoming -they broke down the Japanese -English language barrier by communicating with Google Translate and made us some delicious fresh vegetarian sushi-egg, ume, & cucumber. When my husband asked for dessert, we were served complementary delicious grapes and pears and a cup of green tea! I recommend a meal there.

We visited here last night and it was excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is warm and cosy! We tried many different things and all were thoroughly enjoyable. The food is delicious!

This is a shop selling fresh fish and seafood. You can get it prepared / grilled and eat on-site: There is a room with nice seaview. No english written or spoken but all the food is in front of you: No problem at all and Japanese customers are more than ready to help you. Highly recommended!
