Lobster tail should not stick to the inside of the shell. It did this time. When cooked properly, lobster should not be tough to cut or chew. It was overdone. What was the crusty stuff sticking to the lobster? Was that burned butter? I wasn't sure. I did speak to the manager, who was nice about the issue, yet apparently unaware of the quality of the food going out. The table next to us had an issue with their lobster, so quality control got tossed out the window that day, and the lobster should have went with it. Hopefully, this will not be normal for Saturday meals at noon. We're sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with your experience at our restaurant and we'd like to learn how we can make this better. After being back, for two weeks, from our winter hiatus in the Florida Keys, I started wishing there was a good place nearby to get a good fish sandwich. I had heard about Huck Finn's On the Water, in fact I'd been there years ago for a Mother's Day Brunch. But still, I had never been there for fish.Today we stopped in for lunch and FINALLY my wish came true!We had the Walleye Po Boy and the Blue Gill sandwich. As Lin and I often do, we split the sandwiches so we could each have some. Totally Awesome!I'd also mention the soup of the day was "Corn Poblano Chowder". I've never had it before and all it took was one spoonful and it quickly rose to the top of my all-time favorite soups. Over the top in great flavor, just as fast as the heat started to rise it fell off and is very doable, even for people who think of ketchup as hot sauce. This soup is really, really good! The fish was fresh, not fishy, and the house tartar sauce was a nice compliment to the entire sandwich. I think we may have found our new fishing hole on the Mississippi. To find Huck Finn's on the Water you might want to use your GPS. I happen to know the area and while Huck's is a sharp left at the end of Clinton Street, it is behind a pretty big marina. Well worth the time to find it. The waitress was also friendly, fast and took very good care of us. Good service, great atmosphere, amazing fish and soup and very reasonably priced.Good Job Huck Finn's on the Water, well be back! Thanks for taking the time out of your schedule to leave us this review, RTAR8! We will definitely be passing your compliments on to our staff. We are so glad you dined with us, and it will be our pleasure to serve you again soon so you can try more items on our menu and let us know your thoughts.

High expectationsSurprisingly poor serviceEssentially an empty restaurantTwo cold entrees required an hourTwo undercooked entrees 20 minutes later No chef or management explanation Comped a dessert (poor response for very under par service and food)Thank you for your comment,As I just commented on the Facebook post, I am sorry your experience wasn't up to par when you came for dinner. We are always building a better quality of service from comments like yours and we appreciate it.Just for explanation, and not for making excuses, we were actually busy that evening but you couldn't see the other 2 (almost full) dinning-rooms, the lounge downstairs and the terrace outside because you asked for a quiet table and unfortunately, it was only 1 chef in the kitchen that night, which explains why he couldn't come out and talk with you directly. I, (owner), would be considered the restaurant manager as well but couldn't help as I had to take care of our 4 young children that evening. We are humans; our best was "very under par service and food" for your table that night. I am sorry for it. Again, thank you for your comment; we now have all our healthy staff back which help makes everyone's experience faster and enjoyable.

This is a great place for steak and not good for a diet. The server was excellent. We started with the salad bar. Lots of choices. We had four steaks and they were outstanding. We enjoyed the sides but could hardly finish them. We saw desserts on other tables that looked fabulous but couldn't imagine ordering any.
