Ercolano [erkoˈlaːno] is a town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania of Southern Italy. It lies at the western foot of Mount Vesuvius, on the Bay of Naples, just southeast of the city of Naples. The medieval town of Resina - read Resìna - was built on the volcanic material left by the eruption of Vesuvius (79 CE) that destroyed the ancient city of Herculaneum, from which the present name is derived. Ercolano is a resort and the starting point for excursions to the excavations of Herculaneum and for the ascent of Vesuvius by bus. The town also manufactures leather goods, buttons, glass, and the wine known as Lacryma Christi (Tears of Christ).

After climbing Mt. Vesuvio, this is the perfect ending. Relax on the terrace with cabrese, and a fantastic pizza. The meal take some time (we nordics are in a hurry), but is worth every second spent.And after, ask for Limoncello, the special one ;) The best i have ever tasted, and served with a smile.Perfect end of a perfect day at Vesuvio.

Was looking forward to visiting this restaurant,which was close to our hotel and had good reviews.The food itself was good though portions were slightly small,especially the vegetarian ravioli.Sadly we found the staff unattentive and not very friendly.Overpriced and disapointing overall.

The prices are so cheap compared to any places nearby. The food is good, regardless of the low prices. We had the ricotta stuffed crust pizza and the Ripieno fritto and both were large portions and tasty. Not the best food we ate in Italy but still good. The place is family run and it didnt seem like any of the staff spoke english so be prepared to bumble through an italian conversation.

I find it hard recommending this restaurantThe food was decent, but for the price it not worth it.The sea bass was good but it the most expensive sea bass i have eaten (40 euro), and i have tasted better. Having looked trip advisor we decided to try this restaurant. It was a 25 minute walk from our hotel in Herculaneum but boy was it worth it! We were welcomed warmly by the owner who apologised for his English - which was remarkable! We thoroughly enjoyed the three courses he brought us - freshly caught fish freshly cooked. The bill was 50 euros which included two bottles of wine and a bottle of water! Needless to say we booked again for two days later - and had another fab meal.Thank you Michael and Nicola Solomon

We discovered this great place thanks to the suggestion of our friends. The restaurant is linked to the Kbirr brewery, offering a wide original beers selection. But the other great point are the starters and the quality of meat! Big portions, tasty and unconventional flavours and a professional and friendly service! We came from Milan, where the same dinner would have had a price probably 3 times higher! Great dinner and experience, bravi!

Incredible pizza with amazingly tasty local produce. Went there twice during our stay in Ercolano and loved the food on both occasions. Prices are also very good - a Marinara was only 3.50 euros. I am Italian trust me I have eaten a lot of pizzas in my lifetime but what we have had here was on a different level. Loved every bite.

Step aside all other contenders, this little unassuming place, only a few minutes from the entrance to Herculaneum, has not only friendly staff but the best burgers ever (and I used to live in the US). With a really good selection of different styles of burgers and sides, they offer sit in or take-away (handy if you're staying in a hotel nearby). As it's small there isn't much room but it's a great atmosphere and generous portions. I had the Las Vegas burger, my sons had New York, all delicious and huge, well worth the price. My only problem was I had no room left for dessert.

This was the most disappointing meal we had in Naples. The food wasnât bad. It just wasnât up to the standards weâve been spoilt it in Naples. The highlights: â Eggplant Parmesan. This was very good. The highlight of the meal. â Spaghetti with clams. This was decent but not great. I really like the el dente cooked pasta in general in Italian restaurants but this was really too undercooked.â Gnocchi with tomato sauce: This is something we could have easily had In the US. The tomato sauce was nothing special and certainly not the high quality typically available in Naples. â Pizza with tomatoes four different types. In one word: disappointing.Dear customers We are very sorry to read that your experience has not been in line with your expectations. Letâs answer to each point.The pasta. Our pasta itâs artisanal and, as every kind of artistanal pasta, is imperfect unlike the industrial ones and probably the perception you had itâs due to the amid that this kind of pasta releases during cooking time and of course industrial kind of pasta does not have this amount of amid released. About the pizza. We make pizza with the best raw materials and we use fresh and seasonal tomatoes. About the gnocchi. We are very happy to read that in the USA you have good gnocchi as we have!
