Went here on my Lebanese Lyft driver's recommendation. The place was full of families enjoying Sunday dinner with the family. Promptly seated and given fresh, warm pita and a creamy garlic paste plus water. We were awfully hungry as well as happy to see dishes we weren't familiar with, so we ordered toouch--but so was everyone else! The food was that good. We had...Fattoush, hummus with cubes of beef (excellent!) as the shawarma wasn't ready (it was early still), dandoline, and a mixed shish platter. Haha, we have lunch for two for tomorrow as well!Lovely warm service, fresh food and new dishes. Loved it. Totally recommended.

I ordered the seltah with egg and rice off the lunch menu, a small fatoosh and hummus. This place stinks of lamb, which isn’t pleasant to me at all. I am hopeful there will be no bugs or hair in my food, based on some of the food pics from yelp for this place. The hummus is good, smooth, but a bit bland. Still not bad. The Seltah had very few veggies and doesn’t look as appetizing with the egg mixed in it. My colleague took the other carrot from mine and I only had 2 pieces of carrot total. I thought the egg would be on top but I wanted it cooked completely so maybe that is why it was mixed in? The clay pot makes and keeps is piping hot. The Clay pot reminds me of the same pot used for Korean dol sot bibimbap. The seltah tasted fat too bland and boring, was not impressed by this dish at all. We asked for hot sauce and haven’t gotten it yet. The waits staff is friendly and attentive, for the most part. My fatoosh didn’t come before my meal. I had to ask for it again from the manager and our waitress came out with it within 5 mins. The manger or someone in slacks and a button up shirt took our order, may have been the manager, but our waitress took over. I think that is why the orders were a bit mixed up and I didn’t get the salad or hot sauce in time. I tasted the seltah with chicken and the chef had added more flavor and spice to the chicken and not on the egg version without meat. The waitress said she would talk to the chef about adding more flavor and heat to mine, as I told her it was bland and I didn’t like my dish at all. At least they were willing to make the dish taste better for me. The seltah was too hot to eat and I had to let it sit for about 5-10 mins, Even after it was brought out again with more flavor. The fatoosh salad is good, the darker the romaine the better for me. Dressing could use a bit more kick or maybe it needs a bit of lemon juice or more sumac to the salad. The seltah tasted better with the fresh jalapeño sauce, which I had to ask for yet again, but at least is helped the seltah go down faster. I don’t know if I would order the seltah again.

Habib's Cuisine

I took eleven family members out to dinner. We chose this place based on its menu options and the TripAdvisor reviews. Being personally a vegan and professionally a plant-based diet advocate, I chose Habib's with the hope of sharing with my family omnivores that they don't have to eat dead animals to enjoy a wonderful dining experience. This venue did that, plus so much more. The ambience is exceptional, the menu choices are ample and diverse, the price point is very reasonable and the service was excellent. Our waiter, Ali, tended to our every need being both personal and attentive. We left with many leftovers that lasted through the next day. I will definitely return to this venue next time I visit Michigan.

This long established restaurant has the formula for longevity; delicious food at reasonable prices without a bunch of frills. The wife never deviates from ordering the Cafe Lemon Chicken she says is the best she has ever had, as do many others. I ordered the Mixed Grill (chicken kabob and shish kafta) and was extremely satisfied. The salad was fresh with tasty homemade dressing. The decor is clean and nice but not elaborate. The waitstaff is friendly and very efficient. They have limited hours, 11:00 am to 6:30 pm. The colas are served in cans and no alcohol. No website that I could find. They do not accept credit cards. They never advertise, no need to; the place is always packed.

Ollie's Restaurant

Let me begin by saying that this was our first time here so we cannot compare anything to a previous owner. We were a group of 24, many of whom had never had Lebanese food before. Hubby and I love Middle Eastern food. The cup of lentil soup was excellent ($3). The “small” tabbouli serving was enormous and tasty ($5). The fried kibbee, served with yogurt, was also very good ($8). The falafel was somewhat over cooked ($8) and came with tahini, tomatoes and pickles. Our BBQ chicken wings were very good as well ($7). Overall we found the servings to be generous, nicely presented and reasonably priced. We let others try some of our selections to see if they liked it.... they all were pleasantly surprised. A few folks did not like their meals mainly because they were unfamiliar with the tastes, not because there was anything wrong with the food. Despite some negative reviews, which made us hesitant, I am very glad we went. The service was friendly, efficient and pretty quick for such a large group. Rania did a great job!! The decor and Arabic music rounded out a very enjoyable evening.

We visited La Pita again this year for dinner on a Wednesday night. It wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. Our server walked by a few times but it took another server saying something to him before he came to our table. We had humus and pita (their fresh pita is amazing!) and my mom had falafel while I had a shwarma roll. We shared fatoosh as well. Everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Al Ameer Arabic Restaurant

Reviewed By MandyJ2012

We were in Detroit for a conference, and our Lyft driver was taking us to a restaurant that turned out to be closed (cork and gabel). He asked if we liked middle eastern food, and suggested Al Ameer. It was a bit further away, but we are very glad we listened to him. The hummus, tabouleh, babaganoush, shawarma, chicken, fatoush were excellent. We have spent a lot of time in the middle east, and were thrilled with the food. The service was all it needed to be and the servings were huge (we took a lot back to the hotel). Highly recommend this place... also, the pita is made in a wood-fired oven, and it really makes a difference.
