Ruchis Mexican Grill

We enjoyed this restaurant. The chips were served with two salsas. Watch out...the green salsa was spicy! I can't remember the exact name of my entree (Chicken Ruchi?) but it was chicken with spinach and artichoke served with a green salad that had lots of avocado. The chicken was very flavorful, and I highly recommend this dish! The service was a bit sluggish, but nothing to really complain about. My serving was quite generous and I took home about half. My husband had the spinach enchiladas and he did not leave a single speck on his plate.

It was their soft opening so the service was not wonderful, but the food was. We ordered chicken fajitas for two. The serving size was generous, the presentation nicely done and the quality was excellent. We will give it another try in a few weeks.

I had high hopes since it was recommended both a couple of friends. We couldn't finish our meal- it was tasteless- salt couldn't help. The tortilla soup was like vegetable soup. The beans had no flavor. Food was cold. I'm sorry- we won't be going back.

After lunching at Rita's Mexican Restaurant some months ago, I took the family for dinner on Sunday, 1 September 2019. This was a "miniature road trip" for us.The staff are apparently all completely bilingual. We were greeted and seated promptly. Chips/salsa and our drinks were brought rapidly. The chips are almost certainly baked in their kitchen.I ordered the Enchiladas Trio (3 enchiladas -- cheese, ground beef, shredded chicken -- with beans & rice); my wife ordered a shrimp cocktail (?) without onions; our young son had a cheeseburger with fries (kid's meal). My wife also ordered a margarita. We were unaware that the shrimp order had jalapenos in it. My wife struggled to eat it, then had to stop. The waitress consulted the manager and replaced the order for free. All three of our meals were surprisingly large in size, and very tasty. I shared in my son's cheeseburger & fries, and these were distinctly of higher quality than one would get at a fast-food place or many other casual-dining restaurants. The bill came to a pleasantly low $33. We left full and happy, feeling that we'd received caring attention throughout our visit. We will definitely return to this restaurant, because the food and service are stellar.

This is not your usual Tex Mex experience. The food is high quality and the menu inspired. We were there shortly after they opened and service and performance weren't slighted in the least. We enjoyed booth seating. The restaurant (including the bathrooms) is very clean and maintained. By the time we left, the place was nearly full. It's clear that locals know this restaurant delivers. There is a brunch menu at 9am on Saturday/Sunday.

La Cocina Restaurant

Reviewed By Matthew L

My wife and I dine out almost every night and I can say without a doubt La Cocina is one of the best Mexican restaurants not only in Richmond/Rosenburg area but quite possibly in all of Houston. We are never disappointed here. The food is wonderful and the staff is excellent and professional. The owner is there quite frequently and you can tell he really cares about not only his guests having a wonderful dining experience, but he also cares for his staff which really shows on how guests are treated. We are always treated like family here. Always greeted with a smile and this makes us feel so comfortable when we walk in. The entire staff is very friendly and attentive to their guests, and seem to truly care about your dining experience with them. The dining room is very casual and there is a small bar area in a separate room with multiple TV’s for watching a big game that might be on. They have incredible food and drink specials throughout the week, with each day a different special. The owner has done many updates recently and one of those is the patio. The new patio has comfortable seating and new running lights that make for a good mood and ambiance for when the weather is nice to dine outside. The food is incredible here, we have never had a bad meal in the many time we have visited. Our dinner always comes out fresh and hot, it’s all made from scratch using fresh ingredients. They have some of the best fajitas we have even tasted. We have tried most of the items on the menu and while you can’t go wrong on any of the menu items, out favorite is the street tacos which is a bit spicy but oh so good. I’m not sure what they use to give them that flavor but it’s out of this world good. I personally can’t eat just one. I usually finish the street tacos with a tasty margarita which I find can’t be beat here. They have just right with the balance between tequila and mix. They only serve breakfast on the weekends till noon, but this is not to be missed, the breakfast tacos are the best deal in town. One is enough to fill you up for the day. Many different breakfast tacos to choose from. If you are in the area or just looking for a new place to try, do not hesitate to try La Cocina. It’s a very relaxing place with a nice atmosphere where, although upbeat and fun, you can still carry on a conversation with each other without yelling across a table, great for a date night. Highly recommend.

Larry's Original Mexican

We've seen this restaurant on our travels for years and finally ate there with some friends from the area. The decor is probably the original everything including the carpet. Yes carpet! Aside from that we were served chips and salsa right away with several bowls of salsa at that. One of my pet peeves is one tiny bowl of salsa for four people so this was nice without even asking. New baskets of chips were brought before the old basket was finished. The margarita was pretty good at $4.50. We all enjoyed our various selections and we went home too full. Our service was great as well. I would go back again.

My family has eaten at Bob's Taco Station a couple of times, both for breakfast. The first visit, we ordered our usual American breakfast - eggs, bacon, toast. This was the usual, run-of-the-mill food, nothing fancy or extraordinary to talk about. After being told that their breakfast tacos are so good, we went back for breakfast another time and ordered the tacos. They were good and a nice size for the money. To us it wasn't anything special. Beyond that, it is a nice place to eat when you are not looking for anything special.

Really good Tex-Mex. I had a large combination plate. It was displayed very attractively. They used shredded instead of ground beef, excellent taste. The food was five-star. Our waiter (black gentlemen with bright blonde hair) performed his job OK, but seemed to be going for the big tip. We really didn't want a third person at our table. Also, the music was TOO LOUD!
