Hand made flour tortillas for the burritos and chimichangas! The tj tacos are also the best on this side of the border! A gem in San Diego!
We happened upon this place by accident and were drawn in by the garish red and yellow exterior and the casual outdoor seating (and we were pretty hungry). Wide menu, quite inexpensive, and all delicious. We had carne asada, chicken enchiladas, huevos rancheros, and carne adobada, and all were good. The cooks were fast and efficient, and cooked with flair and style. We liked it enough to come back again with family for breakfast!

Granted, this is a food truck , but oh, what great seafood. After ordering, you are offered a complimentary cup of soup to eat while waiting for them to prepare your food. The soup was wonderfully spiced broth with bits of vegies, fish and one big shrimp. We thought our favorites, the Tacos Isaac, were unique and extremely tasty. The regular fish tacos are very good and cheap. The Tostada Locos were over-the-top delicious and generously portioned with a wide variety of seafood, including mussel and oyster. One Tostada Loco alone would amply feed one, maybe two people. We also tried the shrimp tostada, made with a great cooked shrimp ceviche, with enough in one serving for three tostadas! There is no seating, but If you are in San Diego's South Bay area before about 6pm, don't hesitate, just get on over there for the fast, friendly service and great food.
This was our first time trying this new place in Imperial Beach. We sat upstairs and had a magnificent view of the ocean. Our waiter was a young man, Dan. He was the best waiter I have ever had. We tried three different authentic Mexican dishes including enchiladas with Mexican chocolate spices. Donât miss out when you are in Imperial Beach. You will love it!

Good food, ask for the green salsa (salsa verde, por favor) and enjoy. It's on the way to the beach, or from the beach. Sombrero's, Roberto's and a few other ..o's around the San Diego area offer good, consistent take-away mexican food. You won't be disappointed. But don't be afraid to try some of the other non-Mc-erto's around town!

My first impression was that i walked into a sportsbar complete with televisions mounted every six feet along the edges of the ceiling, playing all the current sports of the season. Music blaring an up tempo non discriptive music almost to the point of being annoying. But what I thought was a drink bar turned out to be a sushi bar with no one sitting there. The tables tops were brushed aluminum with an assortment of chair types and the floor cermaic tiles. This definitely contributed to the overall noise level of sports and music. The Food handler was friendly enough, but the food ordered did not arrive all together in a group delivery. It arrived piece meal, my Shrimp burrito arrived first, the spicy tuna role ten minutes later, followed by the Soup dishes my companions ordered. The burrito was cold by the time all the food arrived for us to begin eating. The tortilla was greasy and the shrimp stuffing cold and altogether bland. I was not impressed with this dish nor the service. The spicy tuna role was not spicy and the dollop of Wasabi too small to spice anything up. There was a decent amount of tuna, a good balance of rice and other items. The role wasn't wrapped tight enough to hold the shape and fell apart while trying to eat it. I generally like to eat the cold dishes first followed by the hot ones. That didn't happen and I am not sure why. The place was not real busy, there were many open tables. If this was truly a bar first and became a restaurant as an after thought then that would explain the disjoined appearance of the room, service and food. I should have ordered the fish soups, the were by far the best of the choices made this evening. They smelled great, tasted good and delivered hot. If I ever make it back, this is what I will go for.

We were staying at the hotel across the street and decided to check it out. If youâve never been there, itâs slightly confusing. Basically get in one of four lines depending on the type of meat you want. Your food is made right in front of you and very fresh. The meat is cooked over charcoal and is very flavorful. We ordered a variety of four different tacos, then went back for a half order of Carne Asada fries. Everything was tasty and made quickly. Iâm sure weâll walk across the street to eat here again before we head home!

We'd never been here before and locating parking took a minute. You need to turn on Thermal Street and there is ample parking in the parking lot behind the restaurant. From the front, the Mexican cafe looks small, however, once inside there is table and booth sitting. And, the pathway into the restaurant, as well as the floor of the restaurant was very clean. If you want to order take-out, they are very willing to accommodate (and you can take home one of their paper menus to refer to).Everyone is really friendly and helpful. The servers were attentive and always kept our drinks filled. The menu is extensive with breakfast items served all day. There are lots a vegetarian (not vegan) items available. The burittos are gigantic. The chile rellano's are deep fried. The cheese crisps were a nice change. And, the prices are extremely reasonable.

On the recommendation of a local Border Patrol agent, my colleagues and I headed to El Cilantro for dinner. The generous portions mentioned by other reviewers did not disappoint. The man in our group with the big appetite had his fill with a single burrito and the horchata was tall and delicious. The ceviche was quite tasty and would have been sufficient for my petite appetite without the fish taco, which was a little disappointing. Not much fish and a ton of slaw. Will have to go back to try the Mexican cocktail (shrimp in a savory tomato sauce).

While being tourist, stopped in for a beverage and snack. The table next to us ordered burritos, omg! they are huge. The nachos were a good size also. Service was good, however, is provided at a dining pace. For us this was not an issue, we were looking to chill outside with a beverage and enjoy the sun, but if you are looking for a quick in and out, you might want to tell them when you arrive. Our food was all yummy and it sounds like the surrounding tables all enjoyed their food too. Great place to come and chillax.
