The population of Novi is 3,988, with a total of 5,131 people in the city administered area. The city area became a Frankopan property in the 13th century, marking the period to which the most valuable heritage is dated, including the Law codex of Vinodol. City hinterland is dominated by the Vinodol Valley, used for agriculture and winemaking. Economy of the city is dominated by tourist industry, as Novi Vinodolski is well known tourist centre situated in an area largely unaffected by other types of industry and it offers a wide variety of tourist amenities. The Vinodol Valley is also the site of a hydroelectric power plant utilizing water collected in Gorski Kotar reservoirs. Transport links of the city are substantially dependent on the nearby city of Rijeka.

Nice place with good food. Big plates, acceptable prices, run by a nice family who insists on giving you free kolac (sponge cake with fruits) and a little slivovica on house.Good choice if you are in Povile or at this end of Novi Vinodolski.

We had a fish plate for two persons. It was delicious. Waitress named all the fishes and removed all the bones while she was talking about the fish. Definitely a must be if you in novi vinodolsk.

In the city center of Novi Vinodolski, a small restaurant located directly nearby the entrance of the Konsum Shop and DM, with a nice atmosphere and the best service in Novi so far. We ordered the seabass with dalmatian Blitva which was just perfectly cooked, and a wood oven pizza which turn out to be yummy. Then as desert a portion of crepes also very good. And for our surprise, the service we had was the actual owner of the place, a friendly and really nice guy named Tomislav, who managed to convince me that I wanted an expresso after. All in all, the food was perfect and the service even more. And a way better dinning experience in comparison with the restaurants on the promenade, and cheaper too.

Hidden in the streets of Novi Vinodolski, restaurant Mate... A perfect peaceful place to enjoy a meal with your family. The food at Garfild is good. I wouldn't call it spectacular nor would I say it was unacceptable. Both the rump steak and pork steaks were overlooked and a little tough. The fish was under seasoned. The cordon blue was well made.

It was our last day-out in Novi Vinodolski this holiday for a family 2+2. Well worth every minute and every penny spent. Pizza was excellent, full of toppings with delicious pizza base, highly recommended! Service was very good considering busy time. Spacious environment and great atmosphere. Prices acceptable thorough the menu and ordered items. Would definitely use again.

We had family dinner with children. Bistro has a perfect location in Novi Vinodolski marina harbor. It was freshly renovated and ambient is very nice. Unfortunately food and service are below average. We have started with fish soup that was served only slightly warm. Great home made ravioli filled with fish were destroyed with too heavy and over salted cream sauce. Stew with octopus and fava beans was over salted and more like a soup then stew.Fish filet was grilled perfectly and green tagliatelle pasta with scampi were very tasty. Service was completely confused during setting table, taking order and with delivery of drinks. Delivery of food was quick and ok.I hope food and service will get better soon since perfect location and ambient deserve much better.

We ordered a fish plate for two people. Moderately satisfied. There could be more potatoes. The staff is wonderful. They were out of gas and, because we waited a bit longer, they offered pancakes and brandy at the expense of the house.

We were impressed of the friendly people we meet here. The food was very good, we had calamari rings and pizza. Everything was tasteful. Before the order we got something to prepare our stomach, it was delicious. After we finished we received on the house some very tasteful home made drinks. The atmosphere is very cozy, we enjoyed it a lot.
