Where to eat Mediterranean food in Long Beach: The Best Restaurants and Bars

September 7, 2019 Chanda Heide

Reviews on Mediterranean food in Long Beach, California, United States. For some, a tour of the Queen Mary, docked here since its retirement in 1967, evokes waves of nostalgia for the days of the huge ocean liner with its opulent rooms, 1930s deco décor and teakwood decks. Others, particularly the younger set, are entranced by the spine-tingling haunted ship stories on the nighttime ghost tour. But for everyone, a visit to this floating hotel and museum is a must on any trip to Long Beach. At one time a less-than-appealing place to visit, Long Beach has transformed itself into an upscale tourist resort, with many waterfront attractions, including a new, state-of-the-art aquarium with a fabulous shark exhibit, two excellent art museums, charming shops, public golf courses, the annual April Grand Prix international auto race and lots of recreational activities along its eight-mile stretch of beach. Take the kids to the waterfront entertainment complex with rides and live performances or to the farming demonstrations at Rancho Los Alamitos. Feeling romantic? Cruise the canals of Naples (that's right, Naples Island in Long Beach) in a genuine Venetian gondola. One thing is for sure: tensions and stresses dissolve in this laid-back, friendly city.

This Open Sesame restaurant in Long Beach is highly rated, but we found it to be only average. Our food did not come out as ordered, and the staff was extremely busy, so resolution took some time. We did not receive the personal attention we thought we should given the issue. To sum up, the food and service was only average. They were really busy, so our experience may represent the fall of their success.

After a previous experience, we took a break from this place. I'm glad we went back. Excellent service, food quality that lived up to old expectations, and a quality atmosphere that included a superb musician. Well done to every member of the Thursday night 9/5 staff, from entry to kitchen to service. And music!

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Long Beach. The food is delicious, great options. The Chicken is so good. Great atmosphere and staff. Check their weekly specials, I believe Tuesday night the do 50% off wine bottles. Make sure to check out the all you can eat family style dinner, you gotta have 4 people in your group who all order it, it's $25/person and it's a variety sample of a few food, but a ample amount and you can keep it coming.

We went to the Flamenco show with our friends a couple weeks back. We first visited the bar downstairs, and it is like stepping into a little bit of Spain. Great decor, very good curated drinks, tasty Sangria, and many diners were eating here for dinner or drinks and appetizers. Upstairs was the Flamenco show. The performers were on a low stage next to the dining area, with great views for everyone. And they are very talented at the music, song, as well as dance. The fixed price ticket gives you the show, and a 3 course dinner featuring an individual paella (seafood or vegetarian). You can add on your drinks, and appetizers, off the show menu. All in all, with everything added in, it was still a great price per person for the food and the show. Several of us at the table are paella cooks at home, and their paella here is very good!Hi George!Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us! Your review is important to us in making sure that we are delivering a great dining experience for our guests. I will pass along your positive sentiments to the team about your great time at the dinner show! Thanks again and we hope to see you at the restaurant again sometime soon!
