Great tasting Mofongo, but overpriced- close to $20 plate; specials were $14 and only brought plantains not mofongo. Full bar, typical high prices, $6 beer, $9 monitors; parking in lot is tight, there's valet for $5. Service was friendly but food took a little long to come out. Very loud atmosphere.

I told that this place was small but oh boy it is crowded as well. The service is speedy and the dishes keep coming out from a small window. The chairs are back to back to the next table. Either you're thin or you'll rub someone on your way to sit down to your table. Also not too many tables or Windows The flavor is good and authentic. But I really like to experience a little bit more than just the person next to me. I rather call, order and take out.Parking is tough and street metered. Located on a historic street of Paterson. Not the best one or fancies but it is definitely old

We went to Tucanes 2 weeks ago, a party of 6 people.. The place was clean, inside was very nicely decorated, the staff was friendly, clean bathrooms.. Good selection of typical Costa Rican food.. made fresh and it was delicious. Not inexpensive but a good value for the quality. Do not go expecting Tex Mex or similar "Spanglish" food... this is 100% food of Costa Rica.

I've been hearing about this "fabulous Spanish restaurant" for some time. I visited this establishment after our last snow storm for a takeout order. The establishment is very plain, simple and it appears to be very clean with ample parking. I believe they have a liquor license with a bar area. Their main business appears to be takeout and deliveries. I asked the individual taking my order to give me their most popular appetizer and two of their signature main dishes. The appetizer they recommended was diced potatoes in some yellow sauce and a hard boiled egg. The main dishes were a sliced stake over French fries and white rice, the other was half a chicken over brown rice. The meal didn't have "ANY DISTINCTIVE FLAVOR". Being Spanish and always enjoy a GOOD Spanish meal, I doubt that I will ever visit this establishment again.

I have been here many times. I am a gringo that knows his Peruvian food. I had very good experiences here in the past, but was a bit embarrassed by my last experience. We brought some guests and travelled far to get there. We talked up the place and were very disappointed to receive overcooked dishes. The anticuchos and lomo saltado were so overcooked and dry. They were tough to eat! The saving grace was that the cabrito was delicious. The Alfajore cookies are awesome!

La Hacienda

Reviewed By hikepark

La Hacienda had been our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area --- until the renovation. We were anxiously awaiting its reopening and finally got there this past Tuesday. We were seated quickly and server came right over with the menus and asked about drinks, which was fine. However, when we looked at the menu, we could hardly read it. It had a black background with the smallest grey printing I have ever seen on a menu. I could barely read it, and my wife had to borrow my glasses to see it, and she has excellent eyesight. The food itself was tasty, but luke warm at best. My wife had enchiladas, while I had the chimichangas, which I don't think were made in house, but pre-made and just warmed up. Also, don't sit on the bar side of the restaurant: it was extremely noisy! We literally almost had to shout at each other and we were at a two person table! Will we give La Hacienda another try? YES, because we think it was the best in the area, and hope the disappointment from this visit was just a one timer
