Villa Napoli Pizzeria

Reviewed By Taylor B

Discovered: Another good restaurant in Norridge, Illinois. And we don't even live there. We do have some friends who live in the Chicago suburb, however, and they have made us aware of places like Villa Napoli Pizzeria. For starters, CEO and founder Ilir Sela has put together one of the most comprehensive menus I have encountered. He prides himself on thin crust pizza. And longtime diners claim Villa Napoli has "the fastest delivery in the world." I can't vouch for that because we live beyond their delivery limit. And we usually have our pizza delivered. But Villa Napoli has so many options, everything you would expect of a Italian restaurant and more, including T-Bone steaks and BBQ ribs and broiled halibut. Located at 8546 West Lawrence Avenue, it is open from 11 to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to midnight on Sunday. Sela's family opened Villa Napoli in 1976 and has been satisfying customers for three generations, confirming their slogan: "You can have your pie and eat it, too." On our initial visit, with friends, we wanted to get a feel for the environment--and the kitchen--so we tried to sample as many dishes as we could. We started with garlic bread, bruschetta, minestrone and grilled chicken Caesar salad. For entrees, we chose veal parmigiana, lasagna, baked mostaccioli and a full slab of BBQ ribs. For dessert, we ordered cannoli, tiramisu and spumoni all around. Villa Napoli is a real family atmosphere with friendly and exceptional service. And the pizza? The extra large, 18-inch thin crust variety comes with every topping imaginable, including shrimp, anchovy, pepperoni, jalapenos, artichoke, vegetable, pineapple, prosciutto, pepperoni, black and green olives, broccoli and Italian beef. But we still prefer cheese and sausage. And they offer pan or stuffed pizza, too. Just another reason, if any more were necessary, why Chicago is the best pizza town in the country.

I have not had any better than here. Very tender and tasty. All the appetizers were very goodI had the Linguine Frutti di Mare. Loaded with shrimp, clams, mussels and more calamari. Light red sauce. My wife had the Braciole alla Bareseangus beef steak, pancetta, parsley, romano, tomato sauce, homemade cavatelli. We couldn’t eat it all! Very reasonable pricing. BYOB. Stopped for lunch. My Italian sandwich tasted very good. Could've used more meat. I couldn't resist taking home several portions of Italian food from their large selection. The variety was outstanding. I served to my family for dinner that night. my son found a long hair in his eggplant parm. The stuffed artichoke was overpowered by garlic. We were quite put off and ended up throwing away the $50 worth of food I purchased. So disappointing. I sent the restaurant an email to give them the opportunity to respond prior to my review. They did not.

I have been coming here for years and the food has always been excellent. The service this time was the pits. We asked the server twice for a wine glass. We asked the server twice for sugar. The bus boy just cleared the plates without asking if we were done. It was family style and there was still food available to put on out plates. The bus boy elbowed a person in the head and didn't even apologize. I will reiterate that the food tasted great, but the service was horrible and I hope this doesn't happen again.

Purchased family salad, small Special...deep dish and small half cheese half pepperoni and sausage.Environment very nice, very busy! Waitress was okay, but not terribly attentive... but pleasant. For me, the flavors were bland and not aggregate, seemed each ingredient was unrelated to the sum of the finished product. Like eating layers of separate ingredients. Crust was biggest disappointment... very bland, texture hard, not soft or chewy, flavorless. Presentation was wonderful, just didn't live up to expectations. Probably would never return... however, I must be alone in my feelings as the restaurant was full with people waiting to get in.

In this "toddlin' town", there are abundant Italian and Italian-Style restaurants. Basilico is a short distance from the airport and does not disappoint on either food or ambiance. It was a great choice for both food and a comfortable business meeting. The wine, by the glass, is from an extensive list, and is a wonderful accompaniment. A "starter" plus a small "entree" is sufficient for tasting absolutely authentic Northern or Sicilian cuisine.

This is a favorite Italian restaurant of ours, and we were happy to introduce the place to some friends who loved it. We had delicious appetizers (bacon-wrapped something and cheese-infused spinach rice balls) and entrees (pasta purses and salmon with sweet potatoes. With fabulous wine of course. And, the portions were so large, we all had leftovers and no room for dessert. Our service by Holly was excellent as well. She was attentive and eager to please us. We can’t wait to return.

Host was friendly. But that was the highlight. Checked my suitcase (came straight from airport) but when I was leaving the closet door was open and no one was watching over it. Food was below average. Had the “special” of risotto with sliced filet mignon which was basically cut up well done small pieces of meat mixed in with rice. Colleague said swordfish was dry as a bone. We had a separate room and restaurant was accommodating but the food really needs work.Dear Colafina,Thank you for your feedback. We take every single review seriously and will share your experience with the entire team. It is extremely unusual that the closet is ever left unattended. I have addressed that immediately. Regarding the food, we are so disappointed to hear that the food did not meet your expectations. We of course hope that you will allow us another opportunity to make your impression right. If you would like to discuss this with me further please reach out.

The pizza at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. My person favorite is the Buffalina pizza and my boyfriend loves the Tres Carne. Also hands down the best cannoli I have ever had in my life (and I've been to Italy). The fries are delicious as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you're debating on trying this place don't wait any longer! Also the pizza reheats really well so you can always take leftovers home and enjoy the pizza again!
