The food was ok, I had a steak and asked it to be cooked medium/well. When I received the steak it was not even cooked medium. The staff were also friendly but when we paid the bill we left a 10% tip, the staff were very quick to say that was not enough even though my meal was not cooked correctly and the prices are very high. Overall it was ok, not what I was expecting after reading other reviews

After reading the reviews we had high expectations, which were not met. Food is plentiful but taste was a mixed bag, some dishes and the bread were excellent, but some dishes, such as salmon, were disappointing. The owner is charismatic, we saw him giving marching orders to his staff, I believe in Arabic, at what seemed like the beginning of a shift. Service was good so they have that going, but the food is not that exciting. I would have much rather eat at a less pretentious middle eastern restaurant where they give you all sorts of salads when you arrive and the food is usually delicious.

Rola was a pleasant surprise. It bills itself as a “Levantine kitchen”, which made us believe that there would be lots of grilled meat, tehina, and humous. However, the food was not what we expected and we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. Many of the dishes on the menu are vegetarian, and the meat dishes are light and mostly chicken and lamb. The salad we had was really fresh and seasoned perfectly. We had a lovely lunch here.

Falafel Hwadi Micheal

In the heart of Wadi Nisnas – standing opposite each other – are two falafel establishments that have been competing for years. A comprehensive market survey we carried out gave micheal the lead over its rival, and we set off to earn our falafel. If the l

After enjoying our felafel across the street in Felafel Ha’zkenim, we wanted to share a plate of hummus. Felafel Hwadi Michael offers other Arab fast food besides felafel, so we went there for hummus. The owner greeted us with a fresh felafel ball dipped in tehina. Gracious as he was, the felafel did not measure up to what we had just eaten across the street. It was somehow older, more fried, in our opinion. We enjoyed the plate of hummus which came with salad and pickled vegetables on the side. In retrospect, we should have ordered the hummus without the extra olive oil.

This charming and beautiful restaurant is located in a converted Ottoman era bathhouse that reflects the history of the place and the artistic sense of the chef. The food is fabulous, very light, perfectly seasoned and presented, and yet the restaurant feels comfortable and homey. It was a uniquely satisfying experience. We loved it!
