On our second visit to this beautiful "old town" city of Riga, we rushed to the restaurant to book a late table after the opera (which is almost opposite) and were again delighted with the ambience, the food, its presentation and the service. The flavours of the food were not spoilt by too much "presentation"; the table settings and cutlery/crockery top-class and there is a lovely view over the park from the enormous windows. Relaxed and replete..what more can one say except that we hope to visit Riga again and the Kolonade will be on the list of to-do.

We were looking for a nice place for dinner and came across this restaurant, which was also located close to our hotel. It was a wonderful evening, great wine, great meal, cool background music. So much so that we decided to eat there the next night. The service was not as friendly as the night before but otherwise all was just as good. We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Restaurant I was invited to. Definitely was not surprised with food. I ordered pork knuckle which was not as big as I thought, definitely not cooked the way I thought, pretty fatty and in fact nothinh special if talking about taste. Good local beer but prices like in Germany.

Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Food is simply sublime & service impeccable. Salmon with lentils dish was perfectly cooked & complemented by a blissful sauce & roasted vegetables. Duck was outstanding, tender & similarly accompanied by a simply delicious sauce. And...our pre dinner tasters were heaven! Dining at this restaurant is such a joy.

When we arrived it was not even 9 pm (google and the front door says it closes at 11 pm) and they told us the kitchen was closed. Inmediately after that they said we can only ask for one drink. We left disappointed about the attention.Hello!We are sorry that you had a bad experience in our restaurant. This is a quiet season, because of that the restaurant working hours may differ. In winter season we recommend people to call and reserve a tabel for dinner, than you can be shour that we will be open and you will enjoy a pleasent evening. Booked on the recommendation of our tour guide -we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful dinner which started with a theatrical splashing of various sauces on the paper covering our table which were to be absorbed with a delightful selection of breads .It worked beautifully. We both had the sea bass -delicious but small portions. However, that allowed a dessert plus an espresso. We had wine by the glass -not cheap but acceptable. Should I ever get back to Riga - I would be delighted to return:

As I live in England but my parents live in Riga, I wanted to make surprise for my mum's birthday so I chose this restaurant. It was Very easy to book through email, they satisfied all my requests and even more. We are very happy with are service (2 girls was great sorry don't remember there names). The food was amazing, very tasty and generous portions. Lovely atmosphere!Thank you very much for making my mum's birthday so speical. Highly recommended.

It was a really nice experience and we had a great time there. The environment was cozy and romantic, the service was very professional and the food was delicious! All in all an amazing experience. I would definitely visit again this restaurant in the future and I will surely recommend it to my friends.

...but other than then, it was a pretty 'ok' experience.The food was great, despite the fact the two medium grilled beef fillet' ended up being one medium and one medium red (grill is their speciality) - and this after they were out of the Chateaubriand, which seemed to be a 'show piece' on the menu, more than something they actually have in stock (waitress looked surprised that anyone would order it)? But again, overall a good experience...
