I love Indian food and have eaten in countless Indian restaurants around the world, but never found one better than Rajpoot. I have been eating Mr. Singh's cooking since he opened his first restaurant in NJ in 1985 and his food is consistently delicious! My wife and I especially love the lamb Shahjahani Biryani - different and better than any other I've had - and the Murgh Kanpuri is so flavorful. In fact every dish we've had here has been super. For the freshest and juiciest Chicken Tandoori I recommend ordering from the menu rather than from the buffet. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, simple but romantic. This is now the only Indian restaurant we go to.

I just had dinner there last night, one word...DELICIOUS! I had the vegetarian enchiladas and my friend had the explosion nachos with the indian fusion...OMG so good. Try all the different sauces, very tasty. The atmosphere is very nice too, might be byob but not sure. Best Mexican food in the area, will definitely go back for more!!!

They had a large variety of food. Some things I tried were really good, others not so much. I didn't find the place to be dirty though, like another reviewer mentioned. Overall, the food was ok. My advice would be less variety of food, and perfect what is actually served. Probably won't return.

What a unique encounter: to find ourselves the sole non-Indian ethnicity at an endroit that draws, even magnetizes, ethnic Indians who seek and savor special genres of Indian repasts.Ye, then, after all, to find this Kathiyawadi Kitchen, serving pure vege food in the laid back, to some nearly invisible, perhaps for some the never before encountered New Jersey town, Sayreville. To discover the additional uniqueness of the Kathiyawadi Kitchen “buffet” style food, recall that in many if not most Indian buffets, for example, those extant on Jersey City’s Newark Avenue, the typical mixed blend of Indian and North American eaters come up to the buffet from their tables. Here in Sayreville’s Kathiyawadi the dedicated, efficient, sincere waitpersons walk the many different buffet hues to the tables, first appetizers on smallish plates followed by large circumferenced main course dishes for patient diners to get to know nosh by nosh. The buffet’s unique personality reaches the experienced, committed tasters.Visages and body language of five such persons seated at the table nearest us, three men on one side of the table, two women on the other side, revealed no clear configuration other than dedication to exploring the delivered delights. In true New Jersey style they had come to, in the fullest sense of the word, taste. They know what they have sought: victuals from the Kathiyawad region of Gujarat, ensconced even in the very name of the restaurant. And the faces of the contended discovers inside the restaurant and a few just outside the doors with whom as we departed we warmly, gently shared questions about the special tastes and spirit within verify they all have found the Kathiyawad treasure quietly, deeply satisfying.
