We headed to Cafe Dalchini after a quick trip advisor search for places to eat in Albury. We were worried about places being open as we were arriving in town around 8pm after travelling. We didn’t need to worry about being late or rushed at Cafe Dalchini. After looking over the extensive menu I asked the waiter for some recommendations - firstly fusion or traditional. His answer summed it up. ‘If you want Indian like you have in other restaurants, then traditional. If you want something that you remember because it’s different - then fusion.’ We went with some fusion options. Great decision!Entrees were meat samosa papdi chat - delicious!! I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo Mains were butter chicken taco which was a delicious take in a traditional butter chicken curry and a spiced chicken and scallop (which was served with sweet potato, broccoli, beans and peas. Both meals were amazing. The flavours just buzzed on your mouth (not a super spicy buzz - rather a delicious blend of flavours)The menu options were extensive - it would be easy to be a repeat customer and not have the same meal twice. The wine list was also great. The two staff members who served us were friendly and helpful. Great service!!What a find! There is a part of me that is glad Cafe Dalchini is 3.5 hours from home ... otherwise I would be eating here far too often

Attractively decorated Indian Tandoori restaurant at the east end of Dean St.Dropped in recently for dinner. Service was prompt (restaurant was basically empty) and the food ok as you would expect. The vegetable Samosas were light on for filling and high on the buttered pasty. The salad accompanying the samosas was tired and limp and lacked freshness. I ordered a vegetable makhni with a tandoori kulcha bread which arrived promptly and was tasty. The staff were not very chatty but were efficient.Overall, I thought the place was average but was not sufficiently impressed to want to return.

We had the buffet. It was fairly ordinary.Insufficient meats/fish in the big help yourself bowls.Very little substance meats. Mostly sauces and gravy. The goat curry was mostly bones. V little meat. Some of the fish was v pink. not cooked enough.Service was ok, but not special. We filled our own glasses, wine and water. That was it. Better places in town overall.

We pulled off the main street as we could not park the car. And there was this small place that had a breakfast menu. We had the omelette which was a very substantial meal. We expected all the veg to be in the omelette. No, the cheese and some spinach made it fluffy. And mushrooms, tomato and spinach were accompaniments on the plate. Very delicious with sourdough under the eggs! Service prompt and friendly with pleasant surroundings.Thoroughly recommend this place. Dear polishg333,We are delighted that you enjoyed your breakie and coffee with us. Thanks for giving us a review. It means a lot to us. Look forward to serving you again. Cheers.
