Had dinner at this very nice restaurant "De Zwaan" in Geldrop, a small town next to Eindhoven in the south of the Netherlands. I worked in the hospitality industry before so I see things a little different when eating out. The staff at this restaurant is very friendly and very well trained.
They know how to explain the menu and options very well. The Menu is very interesting and the food is very well presented. This visit was not just dinner, its was an experience.

This Greek restaurant has great food for an affordable price. The portion sizes are good, not too much, but certainly not too little. The menu is extensive, enough choice for everyone. And the desserts are great! There is lots of Seating space, both in the front main room as well as in a glass house at the rear. A nice ambiance!

Dit restaurant heeft een heel vriendelijk en behulpzame bediening. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is erg goed. Het eten een wild menu bestaande uit een paté wildbouillon een heerlijke hazenrug en nougatinne ijs toe. Daarbij een goede rode huiswijn wat het geheel compleet maakte.
Kortom een fijn restaurant waar je voor een zeer redelijke prijs heel goed kunt eten.

This is high end, gastro-engineered food presented in a modern way. It is a joy to your mouth, your tongue and your tummy.
Each dish is a well thought out work of art that tastes great. Your senses are challenged. Your eyes amaze at the colors and composition. Your nose smells these wonderful aromas. And finally, your tongue get grab and shaken by absolutely amazing tastes. It is really a treat to eat here.

Very nice restaurant in a little gem of a village in the south east of the Netherlands.
Located opposite of a, still inhabited, castle.
Food is great, service is impeccable and very friendly, interior with a fantastic atmosphere.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and had a memorable evening.
Will definitely come back here !

Definitely one of the best places in Eindhoven. If not the best. No kidding. I regularly eat Greek here for a simple reason: good food, friendly staff, full plates. The owners (which are real Greek) are always in the room, making sure everything is perfect. This is already a positive sign, in my opinion. I recommend Tiriopita and Gyros. If I have to find a negative point, that's the Retzina wine. At the end of the dinner you won't be able to stand-up easily so full you'd be. Price aligned to Eindhoven standard: 20-25€ pp. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

It was great to be out with two Portuguese friends who love food and surprise them with a dinner in a Portuguese inspired restaurant.

I live in Eindhoven and when my parents recently visited I wanted to take them to Geldrop as I thought the kasteel and the enormous church would be of interest to them.
We wanted to eat in Geldrop but hadn't planned where. My husband and I like Peijnenburg ontbijtkoek ("breakfast cake" ...or for us just cake that we have with a cuppa after work) so when I saw the name of this cafe, and it's pretty setting on the square we decided to try it for lunch. I asked the owner about Pijnenburg and she told me a little about it, but it wasn't clear if this spot was the original bakery or not... But I think it is. These days the factory is just outside of Geldrop on the way to Eindhoven. I would have liked to have known a bit more about the link between the cafe and the famous cake, but it was quite busy and I got the impression this wasn't the time to chat. The staff were friendly enough though and we're happy to speak English. There weren't any English menus but we managed with my very basic Dutch.
Between us we had three different types of Sandwich and a soup and everyone enjoyed their food. It was freshly made, with delicious bread and all tasted good. We didn't look at the cake/dessert menu because we were full, so I don't know if they actually served the famous ontbijtkoek here.
All four of us said we would come back. The hot mushroom, cheese and bacon club Sandwich was particularly good, as was the goats cheese which I think was local (I think it was called "Heeze geitenkaas" ). We thought the prices were very reasonable too.
