Behind this unprepossessing facade, on a busy road near the medieval town of Aubenas,lies a small corner of home-cooked heaven. The simple decor of red and white gingham reflects the warm and generous welcome of the suitably rotund and beaming owner and his waitresses, while his wife cooks in the kitchen. For a mere 10.90 euros we enjoyed the plat du jour of melting blanquette de veau, a classic of French cuisine. At other times we have consumed a perfect Pissaladiere tart of onions and anchovies, with crisp, thin pastry, and courgette soup garnished with tiny cubes of smoked salmon.The place is always full, not just with workers consuming their midi meal, but also with families tucking in to the brimming platefuls.It is essential to book for this unsophisticated, but totally authentic, French experience.

Stumbled across this lovely bistro...very reasonably priced lunch and drinks. We had the Formule menu at â¬15 each - Chicken Milanese with fries and salad followed by a choice of desserts. A glass of house wine was just â¬2. Great place for a leisurely lunch!Merci pour vos compliments content de vous avoir régalé . A une prochaine fois.

Arrivés a 20h , servis 45 minutes plus tard . Couscous royal au menu , beaucoup d'accompagnement , tres peu de viande pour un prix élevé et en plus , a peine chaud . la serveuse est sympa , mais vite débordée et pas pro . on sent la panique en cuisine , qui d'ailleurs , est visible de la salle ! la déco est surfaite , avec du fer forgé partout ; trop c'est trop . Point positif , le thé excellent et les desserts , bien qu'ils semblent industriels etaient bons .Dernier conseil : SVP , investissez dans une clim , car entre la chaleur et les odeurs de cuisine , c'est vite intenable.
