Lovely cozy restaurant with fast service and freshly cooked meals probably the best in the area since many restaurants now have already prepared food delivered to their kitchens to pop in to the oven and serve so if you crave a home cooked meal I would recommend the schnapbrener.

Gemütlicher Gasthof mit vorwiegend regionaler Küche. Die Speisekarte ist bewusst kurz gehalten, sodass alle Speisen frisch zubereitet werden. Bei acht Personen ergab sich ein guter Ãberblick über das Angebot. Am Ende waren alle sehr zufrieden. Hervorzuheben ist noch die kompetente und freundliche Bedienung.

Man fühlt sich dort sehr Willkommen. Das Frühstück und die leckeren Kuchen sind bestens zu empfehlen. Immerwieder ein toller Treffpunkt zum Verweilen.

Good quality Bavarian - Franconian kitchen. Well chosen house wines. Excelent service! Nice views from terace. The place has met our expectations though it did not exceeded them. Therefore, my rating is 4 points, not 5.

Richtig gutes italienisches Essen auf der Terasse in der untergehenden Sonne. Nicht nur dort ist spürbar, dass mit viel Liebe zum Detail ein witklich schönes Ambiente geschaffen wurde. Sehr zu empfehlen ist die original ungarische Gulaschsuppe. Wir kommen sehr gerne immer wieder.

Living nearby we oftentimes visit the castle and park groumds having eaten there but 3 time including yesterday. The menu has changed to enable the large number of tourists who stop by when visiting the castle to quickly be served offering very limited choices all deep fried or prepared well in advance. Several pages of their beer specialties are listed being truly wonderful world class beer so in the future I will drink my dinner without bothering about the menu. However this is the only place near by for a meal.

Die Terrasse des Gasthauses war sehr gut besucht. Die "Kleine Karte" bot um 14:00 Uhr noch allerhand, so dass ich noch etwas Warmes auswählen konnte. Das Essen war ok - die Schalen der Rosmarinkartoffeln nach meinem Geschmack etwas zu schwarz. Ich konnte sie schälen. Es war Betrieb und ich habe mich etwas "abgefertigt" gefühlt.

We travel the world for 40 years, enjoy all types of food everywhere and this place has become a top 10 place in our list.The owner / chef Uli surprises us everytime again with innovative creative dishes, composed of local ingredients, combined with a super choice of wine.When somebody in the party has a special wish, he will go out of his way to fullfill it.

Come here for some traditional, Bavarian food and drink. I thoroughly enjoyed the Schnitzel on the deck. The service was excellent and the pleasant. Make sure to walk around Brombachsee afterwards. It's only a 5 minute drive!

Kastanienhof offers typical local food in great quality. The taste is fantastic and the portions are very generous. The service is good and helpful - even some English is spoken.In summer sitting outside on the terrace enjoying a nice cold beer and some local sausage with potato salad is just the Bavarian feeling of "Gemütlichkeit" I miss when not at home.In winter the restaurant invites to sit in the cosy and well decorated inside.The style is typical Franconia "Wirtshaus" without being being too tacky. During high season it can be advisable to make a reservation if you want to sit outside. In the winter months you need to check if the place is open - especially during late evenings - as they might close for the night if no customers are in later than 18:00.Thanks for the great review, absolutely.But you know our house very well?If you should be our guest again, please login.We would like to invite you to a meal and a beer.Best regardsyour host
