Landau, or Landau in der Pfalz, is an autonomous (kreisfrei) town surrounded by the Südliche Weinstraße ("Southern Wine Route") district of southern Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is a university town (since 1990), a long-standing cultural centre, and a market and shopping town, surrounded by vineyards and wine-growing villages of the Palatinate wine region. Landau lies east of the Palatinate forest, Europe's largest contiguous forest, on the German Wine Route.

Our local German friends chose this charming restaurant for our farewell dinner after a visit to this lovely West German wine region.The Höppler family seem to run this mostly on their own with the wife serving and her husband in the kitchen. The combination works very well and we all enjoyed our meal and drinks.My local fresh asparagus with smoked salmon was delicious, as was the following turbot. For dessert we had a splendid concoction but I regret I cannot recall its name.One can choose from set menus - mine was 38 euros - or a la carte with drinks (good selection) extra.The restaurant also offers seasonal menus throughout the year, details on their website www.provençal-landau.de

Mit Freunden durch Zufall dort gelandet. Geniale Lage. Location innen sehr geschmackvoll. Nur eigene Weine, ok, aber Auswahl groà und gut. Speiseauswahl eher fast zu groÃ, also jeder findet was. Service sehr nett, freundlich und flexibel. Eine glänzende Alternative in der Südpfalz. Gelungen! Werden wieder dort auftauchen......

Went there and bought some cake to take back home. Very nice and good quality. They do serve breakfast and snacks as well. After some shopping the right place for a nice treat.

Wir lieben dieses Kleinod und Botschafter der Norddeutschen Küche in der Südpfalz. Das Restaurant ist recht klein, aber man wird hier immer belohnt mit tollem, leckeren und sehr gutem Essen. Wer Fisch liebt ist hier genau richtig. Die Wirtsleute sind sehr freundlich, hier wird mit Leidenschaft gekocht und bewirtet.

Jedes Essen war top. Riesen Weinkarte. Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Dire Speisekarte hat für jeden etwas. Es gibt auch "halbe" Gerichte. Restaurant ist von 15:30 bis 21:30 Uhr geöffnet.

We love the Pfalz area. This time the rain was in the air. Cold. Windy.We were here in the asparagus season! The Germans love aspargus.We had one aspargus salad and one cooked aspargus for a lunch. Both very good. Parking right in the square.

Blum serves excellent value for money food combined with a truly friendly service. The restaurant is located within the Frank-Loebsche house and in the summer provides a wonderful setting. Highly recommended and the Owner speaks good English.

The servants are very op and enthousiast, the food was nice.Strange was that we should sit outside at the same table as other guests.Dear Roger,thank you for your feedback. We are glad you liked it at our restaurant.I am a bit confused though about the same table feedback. We reserved you a table inside our restaurant. When you arrived we asked you if you prefer to sit outside, as it was the first day with good weather. We also mentioned before you sat down twice that this would only be possible if you share a table with other guests, which is quite customary in palatinate. You agreed. You didnt have to share this table we still had seats inside.We are looking forward to your next visit.With best regards,Anne & Team
