Landau, or Landau in der Pfalz, is an autonomous (kreisfrei) town surrounded by the Südliche Weinstraße ("Southern Wine Route") district of southern Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is a university town (since 1990), a long-standing cultural centre, and a market and shopping town, surrounded by vineyards and wine-growing villages of the Palatinate wine region. Landau lies east of the Palatinate forest, Europe's largest contiguous forest, on the German Wine Route.

I've seen a few zoos in my time; this one is absolutely fine to visit, but not spectacular in any way. Animals seem well kept, the place is quite busy even during the day with visiting school classes, etc.
Restaurant food is quite okay and not expensive.

Perhaps giving a place a 1* review when I haven't actually been is unfair but...
Reptilium had a stand at the Reisemarkt holiday fair in Mannheim. Two young girls were there, one with a snake and one with a lizard I don't know the name of. You could have your photo taken with them for a price and both were enthusiastically letting people stroke the reptiles.
When I asked where the lizard liked being stroked best I was told they don't like being handled at all. They just put up with it they didn't like it at AT ALL. They're used to being handled by their trainers but do not like others doing it.
So I didn't stroke them. And I won't be going somewhere that makes the animals go through something they actively dislike in the name of publicity.

Das La Ola in Landau hat einen schönen Innenbereichen in dem es sich gut schwimmen lässt. Sondern auch einen großen Saunabereich in dem man gut abschalten kann. Es gibt eine schöne Wasserrutsche. Und einen Außenbereich mit einem beheizten Becken. Für die kältere Jahreszeit ist dieses Schwimmbad im Nahbereich bestens geeignet. Wer jedoch Action sucht ist hier falsch aufgehoben.Aber gerne komme ich hierher und meine Bahnen zu ziehen.

Ich weiß, in Weinregionen wie der Pfalz oder dem Rheingau hat der Einheimische seine favorisierten Weingüter, zu denen er meist direkt auf den Hof fährt und sich dort mit Wein eindeckt. Sollten Sie wie ich nicht in der Pfalz leben und noch bei weitem auch noch nicht im Ansatz einen Überblick über die Weinvielfalt der Pfalz haben, kommen Sie unbedingt ins „Par Terre“. Hier finden Sie eine riesige Auswahl an regionalen Winzern aller Preisklassen und gefühlt können Sie 2/3 aller angebotenen Weine auch verköstigen. Wenn Sie Wein kaufen, wird Ihnen der Kostenbeitrag erlassen. Schöne Geste. Am ersten Samstag (oder vielleicht am ersten Wochenende – da bin ich mir nicht sicher) sind im Wechsel verschiedene Winzer in der Vinothek vor Ort, die ihre Weine persönlich präsentieren. An solch einem Tag habe auch ich das Par Terre kennen gelernt und war begeistert. In netter entspannter Atmosphäre ohne Zwang bei einem Plausch mit dem Winzer trinkt es sich gut und kauft es sich noch besser ein. Und am Ende hilft das nette Team auch noch die hübsch gepackten Kisten ins Auto zu tragen.
UND: preislich beinahe günstig! Kofferraum voll! Super spontaner Einkauf. Ich bin happy! War gewiss nicht der letzte Besuch im Par Terre. Vielen Dank!

To be honest - I'm not sure if this is the name of a group that organizes the information about Laundau fortress. However, we were lucky enough to know someone who was able to take us into the fortress walls - which look like this - and we were so impressed. It was a very interesting story because Landau is right on the border with France at various periods of history and the castle/fortress walls were built to keep either France out or Germany out at various times I really enjoyed walking under them in the caves - and also seeing the formation which was made specifically to deal with cannons. Hopefully someday more information will be available for the public.

When one walks into Brennan's, they get the sense that it's something bigger than it appears. There's a spirit to the place. They've got a sign saying that there are no strangers here, only friends that haven't met, yet. That's the case. Ollie is great, and the staff are amazing. I'll be back (mostly because I owe Ollie a beer...).

Gute kleine Halle mit zwei Etagen, lohnt sich. Preise sind wie bei allen Lasertaghallen exorbitant zu hoch, aber was solls :D

Stiftskirche in Landau is a nice church with simple, but nice interior. I recommend to stop by for a while once you are in the town.
