Always visit when staying with my brother who lives nearby. I enjoyed the small portion of the goats cheese starter, which came with lovely fresh salad and was a good size for me. Followed by mussels and frites. The 2nd visit I had scallops and a really delicious chicken with Camembert sauce - very rich but oh so delicious. The owners offer of his homemade rum punch is a nice finisher. Service and food are great, never feel rushed. Would recommend booking.

Cannot understand why this is rated so highly! We travelled by taxi from other side of San Juan because of the high ratings but left extremely disappointed.We arrived on a Friday evening about 8.30, restaurant was empty. We ordered drinks, we then ordered steaks, entrcote for my wife and sirloin for myself, and asked for them to be cooked rare.They came with french fries and mild peppers. We were amazed how quickly the food was served, literally 5 - 10 minutes. The steaks were raw in parts, there is a difference between raw and cooked rare!! They were full of fat and grizzle and unpleasant to eat. We pointed this out to Antonio the owner and he literally did not want to know arguing that that was the manner of this type of steak. WHAT NONSENSE. We paid and left. Needless to say we won't be back.Good afternoon and thank you for sharing your opinion.The weekends here in Spain usually dinner after 8:30 pm, that's the reason why there are less people and we can serve the customers faster, than when the restaurant is full.Related about the meat there are some with more fat than others, as you said sirloin we do not serve in our restaurant, perhaps you tried the Iberian pen, which is just a meat fat, and for that reason, usually our customers like it because that grease have a very special taste and for this reason fond and melts in the mouth, apart from the very good taste that all our customers comment.We always approach after serving the dishes to ask if everything is fine, if there is not cooking or anything else, and to be able to solve any detail in time, we tend to pay close attention about cooking, but if you return to dinner and it is not correct , do not hesitate in commenting, and we solve it.I hope to welcome you again and you can enjoy as all our customers the quality of our meats.A cordial greeting,Antonio Zamarreño

We've celebrated husband's birthday at the Bonalba Restaurant on the 26.4.2014 having a gourgieus dinner with an excellent service By David. Every portion of the food did not only look good, but they tasted just marvellous! Thank you Bonalba kitchen for making this dinner so memorably for us!
