Enjoyed a very jolly, leisurely lunch here during the week. Temperatures were in the 80s and we sat outside on the terrace under a canopy. Madame us very visible and greets all her guests personally, allowing her very amiable son to take over for service. The food is rich, generous and very representative of the area. All the locals come here for the ris de veau, which is very tasty but I preferred the veal escalope served with local veg and the best mashed potato ever. Starters were also very generous and we'll presented. Eating here is an unhurried example of country life and well worth it. Don't bother if you are expecting stainless steel counters and nouvelle cuisine, this isn't it.

You know when you read the faces of waiters and waitresses, the girl being very efficient and the older guy (usually) doesn't give a hoot. This place always makes me nervous, you never know what you'll get in terms of a welcome. The food it good, price not bad and the pizzas to be fair are lovely. It made me smile last time when they announce there is NONE LEFT of something as though its your fault and you should have been here earlier...

Great traditional food but the menu du jour is poor, I've been a few times and it doesn't get any better. Stick to the traditional salads but the chicken... avoid

Lovely location on the high street. We booked late for 8 of us. Two turned up very late. They were fine about it.My brother ordered some wine that they didn't have in the restaurant so they sent someone off to fetch it!!The food was interesting and good. The service was excellent and we stayed until the wee small hours and no one rushed us. Highly recommend this if, like us, you are staying in Eugenie and need a good reasonably priced meal.

At a quarter of the price charged at Michel Guerard's flagship hotel, the small, compact, slightly airless rooms seem not so cramped. Hotel has a restaurant but Guerard's two restaurants are a five-minute walk away Thanks for your comments. Our 3 star Hotel is just behind Les Près D'Eugénie & La Ferme aux Grives, ideal if you want to a comfortable room for your stay in Eugénle Les Bains. Of course our outside swimming pool is heated !

Settled into the old "Café du Village", Café Mère Poule is part of the famous Les Prés d'Eugénie Resort. The atmosphere is cosy with its fireplace and sofas and a XIXth century decoration. The menu is short, siple and family friendly with a specialty of "
A fantastic lunch spot. Exceptional soups and "tartines" made by folks who trained in the cooking school run by 3 start Michelin chef Michel Guerard. And all in a lovely setting in a perfectly restored old village house.

A short walk from the main establishment, La Ferme aux Grives is a delightfully restored older building oozing with cozy rustic charm. The food is a stick-to-your ribs super value. The snails were wickedly rich and good; best version sans doubt. Sliced, house-cured salmon with caviar atop a fennel-cream covered wafer was tasty, but we both loved the snails more. Roast short rib came with decadently rich velvet potatoes (more butter than potatoes?) and mushroom and pasta in a cream sauce (these two rich sides put the gut to a test). Suckling pig was tender and very filling. The warm chocolate cake and baba au rhum with Armagnac were both delicious, but you may be pushing it at this point if you have so far fully enjoyed this traditional Bordelaise meal. The wine list is short but very reasonable.

This restaurant is the longest running place of the world with 3 Michelin Stars. The owner Michelle Guerrard is 84 years old one of the most iconic chefs of the world. Started our evening in the garden with Badinguet Coctail, after were escorted to our table inside the restaurant. We have opted for the Palais Enchante menu with 6 courses plus the amuse bouche and petit four. Caviar, palace potato, half lobster, pigeon, beef, all prepared to perfection, plated beautifully. Remarkable cheese selection and souffle with berries and verbena ice cream to finish the evening off. We are really grateful that we had the chance to taste the food of this remarkable gentleman. No wine pairing is available but the sommelier is helpful with his suggestions to compliment each course. Perfect and memorable evening for us.
