We stopped here on a day out with my severely handicapped mother. The service, price and food were all excellent. There was even a toilet suitable for a wheelchair. We had the lunchtime menu which was 13.80 euros including wine. The food was simple but delicious, my husband had curried lamb meatballs with pasta, my mum and I had half spit roasted pousin with chips fried in duck fat and mixed vegetables, there is a buffet to start, then I had tarte au citron, my husband had a creme caramel and my mum had fromage blanc with. The brasserie was very busy but the service was good. I would not hesitate to recommend it, you could combine it with a visit to the olive oil mill which is next door and Minerve which is just down the road. It is good plain restaurant which serves honest food at a good price.

We stopped off here for a quick bite to eat at lunch time on our way back from visiting a nearby attraction (Oppidum d'Enserune). It's mainly a pizza restaurant, but they also do pasta dishes and other hot meals, as well as a lunchtime "formule". The pizzas are enormous, and I could only finish half of mine, but it was really very tasty - with a thin and crispy base - just how I like it. My chosen toppings were nothing special, just a Margarita, but it was nicely presented and I also had a side salad for a bit of green! It's quite a big restaurant, and I imagine that it can feel a bit cavernous, but there were some locals (builders) enjoying a huge lunch and it felt as though they were enjoying what they had chosen. Would definitely eat here again. Friendly service and good value!Merci beaucoup, contente que vous vous soyez régalés. A bientôt

A nice restaurant with a very nice garden in summer. Reasonably priced and serving meals of a good quality. There are even some surprises, oysters or snails as an appetizer, aile de rai (unfortunately without any sauce) as a main course. Good and friendly service. The only negative aspects are that their jug wine is not very good and that the side dishes are without much taste and fantasy.

One of our favourite restaurants. Pleased with updated decoration inside which makes an even nicer ambiance. Thought food had improved and was told there is a new chef. Even better. Partner thought chocolate cake to die for. More reasons to find this place which is a little off the beaten track.

Located in a charming courtyard in the tiny village of Bize Minervois, Cafe du Midi serves a daily special prix fixe lunch. We enjoyed a pork chop with a lovely red pepper sauce, pommes frites, mixed vegetables, dessert and espresso for around 12 euros. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

Let me start by confessing that we ate here twice this week, and not for lack of other places. It’s simple country kitchen with outstanding ingredients and preparation. Eating outside on the terrace is living the life of Riley! The service is good, the portions quite large and the price very much in range. My sympathy goes out to the Belgian lady who runs the place. She took going out of the World Cup to the Poms gracefully.

Never have we been so disrespected in a restaurant. The server (owner?) was a tyrant. I would never recommend this place to anyone…even if the food is good…we didn't stay long enough to find out. Worst experience I have ever had in France.Bonjour Leanne,Firstly, let me explain what actually happened because in this age of social media, it is very easy to write a review on everything!!I found your husband walking out of our toilet with a wet face when I came out of our kitchen! I asked him if both of you wanted to have a meal with us and you said 'NO'! Our toilet is not a public toilet and is only for our guests. The minimum manners you could have is to ask if you can use our toilet but instead, what your husband did was just walked in to our restaurant, use our toilet, no Hello or Thank you and just walked out!! And to my amazing surprise, you wrote a review for us!!! I am not sure how things are done in Calgary, Canada but in France, there is a minimum of respect with a Bonjour and a Merci.

Lovely setting! We sat outside and received a warm welcome from staff. We ordered a variety of meals, all of which were very good. I had the chicken which was delicious and served with vegetables, which seems to be vey unusual in this part of France! The house red wine was very light and much enjoyed.I had chocolate tart for desert, a real indulgence, the others had cafe gourmand which went down very welll. All in all, an excellent dining experience.

Les carrasses is exactly that we were missing here in our region. Beautiful property, breathtaking views... modern and traditional at the same time. Most of the clients are anglophones, so the menue is friendly to international tastes. Possibility to drink at the bar, eat outside or inside. Menue changes often. We remarked that the food was of higher quality during the low season. Looks like the chief struggles to meet the high demand at the high season and not always gets a success in it.Two main negative points: the service and the price of wines. The service really needs to be improved. As for the prices of wines... well, guys, we know as well as you that we are in the region where the wines cost pea-nuts. So, we are quiet shocked not to find any single bottle on the wine list cheaper than 28 euros (+++). This only reduces the consolation. Apply the fare price (not multiplied by 5) and clients will order 2 bottles instead of one. Otherwise nice property, we will be back and advise our friends to go there.Hi Mary,Thanks very much for your review. We're glad you liked the Château so much, though we're sorry you didn't feel that the service was up to scratch on this occasion - we work hard to ensure excellent service at all times, and have brought your comments to the attention of the team. We're a bit surprised by your comments about the price of the wine though. We pride ourselves on showcasing the best of Languedoc wines at great value for money, with the wines starting at €19 for our own Les Carrasses cuvees; We have 35 different bottles at less than €28 (more than half the list!). Perhaps you were looking at the list of daily specials? In any case, we look forward to seeing you again at Les Carrasses, and the opportunity to show you some of the great, reasonably priced wines we offer. Thanks again for your review.
