We regularly visit Alicante for shopping & the museums, but the highlight of our visit is lunch at FreneZy. The welcome from Xavier and his team is always warm and the restaurant has a real family atmosphere, which makes us feel good.The daily menu changes regularly and at â¬15 is difficult to beat, the choices are limited but are ingenious in preparation and always of the highest quality. This is a small place run by its owner, a gentil young French guy who offers authentic variety of French cheese. I would recommend having a bottle of wine and the marvelous organic mermelades to join the table of cheese, a mixture of contrast, an explosion of flavours. It is advisable to have a reservation if you want to go at night, specially during the weekends.

Went there for a snack, had sangria and several tapas. The service was ok, but as we having been living in Alicante for a week and trying other places, the good seemed mediocre. The tortilla did seem not fresh and heated, while the tomatoes coming on guacamole patatas were too old. We have read your words quite surprised. Because everything we serve is fresh, bought daily at local stores and Mercado Principal de Alicante. As you can check on all our Internet pages.Those same days when you were other hundreds of customers asked for tortillas and tried the same tomatoes, and as you can see, all the reviews about them are excellent. Anyway, if ever we make a mistake in the kitchen, it will never be the fault of the products, since they are always fresh and of the highest quality. Nothing frozen or precooked.The only thing left to think about is that you may like other more exotic or haute cuisine elaborations. My husband had been here previous on a business trip, and he thought it would be nice to come back here when I was with him on a second business trip to Alicante. Not too far from our hotel. Lovely food, we opted for several tapas plates which were all delicious, and highly recommended. Service was excellent, but we were glad we had booked a table, because it was busy on the day we dined there. Would definitely go back here again!

Excellent neighborhood type Italian place, lucky neighborhood!!Friendly welcome, great service even during a busy lunchtime when complexity full. Calamari and capresse salad to start, the salad served with fresh anchovy and olive which worked really well. Seafood pasta and a decent house white all around. Very good espresso and home made limoncello. Definite return. Thank you very much. It is a pleasure for us to take your time to leave us a positivereview on this website. Thank you very much again. Visited for dinner with a colleague and had a lovely meal. Only 4 tables and a small, freshly cooked menu. Food is high quality and authentic Italian. I had the gnocchi wth meatball sauce while my colleague had the vegetable tagliatelle. Portions were small but that suited me - I was comfortably full after 2 courses. We were also offered complimentary amuse bouche between courses. Wine is reasonably priced. I would definitely come back.

The owner is very personable and passionate about his food. The entire meal was an experience The pizza (appetizer) reminded me of home(NYC) not greasy, flavorful and good! The pasta was fresh and very good. The owner has a definite order to his meal service and menu and it works. Thank you for a memorable evening.* note - limited tables suggest calling for a reservation- this restaurant was close to our AirBnb and away from all the tourists

To-Bar has 2 restuarants, one in Alicante and 1 just outside, we went to the one outside in Villa Franqueza. They serve only lunches, we came 4 people for lunch without reservation.Instead of rejecting us (full restaurant) the owner walked us over the street to a bar for a drink so we could wait there for 15 min until he had a table. After 15 he came himself to get us. To-Bar dont have a menu, you will be served 7 amazing courses of Alicante specialtize and after that a paella!This food is genuinly cooked with top ingrediences and served to perfection!There isn't a lot of restaurants in Alicante that can match this food!The restuarant is small and not luxurious, but extremelly welcoming!For those intrested in the price range this restaurant is extremelly cheap for the food served!!! Our bill for 4 people incl wine and dessert was way under 100â¬...This is a must if you enjoy spanish food!!!
