We stopped in Murten on our driving tour of Switzerland, and found this restaurant downtown to be so charming we had to eat here. My wife got their roast chicken, the schnitzel for me, and we shared a salad. The salad had an incredible homemade dressing, the schnitzel was above average, but the roast chicken was a must-try! One of the best chicken dishes we have eaten. Then... dessert. We got the chocolate lava cake, it comes with cream (to help with the intense sweetness) and vanilla ice cream. My wife said it the best: âthis is the best dessert, and one of the best things Iâve ever eaten, period.â Eat here when in Murten- you wonât be disappointed!

We came here for lunch after taking our daughters to the Papiliorama in the morning. We had a lovely lunch with a perfect view and an unbelievable service!!! Everything was perfect. So thank you :) I definitely recommend trying their tartares, but more specifically if youâve never had it before, the cerf or chevreuil tartares which are part of their specialities. We also had a beautiful charcuterie hunting platter, so yummy! The staff speak perfect french. There is parking (paid) just out front. And the view over Murtensee is breathtaking. And if you have time to take a tour of Murten, looks like a super cute town.

From outside, one sees a smartly refurbished farmhouse that fits well into this pretty farming village. The building is decorated with flower-filled window boxes and emblazoned with the words 'La Maison Salvagny'. There is no outward indication of this being a hotel or restaurant. Inside, the spacious dining area is cut off from the kitchen by a glass wall. Tables are set nicely apart and acoustic ceiling tiles, strategically-positioned, keep the sound level down, which is helpful as the floor is tiled. The three-course (CHF 72) menu offers three choices for each course. We picked salad with red mullet and home-made terrine followed by grilled chicken (so-so) and filet of beef in a herb crust (exquisite). For pudding we both opted for café gourmand - an espresso accompanied by tiny portions of cakes, crunchy biscuits and a creamy trifle. Extra supplies of the main course gravies were provided in dainty copper pans kept warm on matching copper stands. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The wine list featured a well-selected range and included some locally grown Vully wines.

We had dinner at this restaurant on the advice of the hotel. We do not regret listening to the recommendation. I had a very nice tournedos with an excellent sauce, very well prepared with handmade pommes and grilled vegetables. My son had steak tartare which was very tasty. Sitting outside on the terrace at this beautiful old street in Murten was a joy. The services was excellent. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciate your feedback. Thanks !!!Team Bistrottino

Mr. Prozillo and his wife manage to offer a very consistent quality of delicious Italian food. The meat, seafood and pasta are always unique, fresh and authentic. We visited this place for many years as regular customers until we lately moved abroad. We were often offered a special like the Bistecca Fiorentina or Tagliatelle with white truffles that wasn't on the menu. Pricewise this place offers excellent value and in summer one can enjoy the beautiful setting in the arcades. Murten's best kept secret when it comes to Italian food!

Definitely interesting mix of modern style and traditions, excellent fish dishes, very good service (and I came from Japan - so my benchmark is pretty high)

This place was a real find! Food was wonderful and the waitress (Betül) was charming. We had a table outside facing the street, so it was fun watching everyone walk by as we waited for the food.
Food, service and ambiance. To begin with, our waiter was amazing. He was friendly, conversational, provided wonderful recommendations and had such a warm smile that you felt like youâd known him for years. Our food was just as impressive as the service. We had the vegetarian stuffed eggplant as well as the guvec, a recommended lamb dish that was absolutely delicious. In addition, we sampled a local wine (Vully) that we highly recommend. Lastly, all of this was accompanied by a quaint environment that felt like you had just stepped back in time. We look forward to our next visit to the area and to returning to this amazing restaurant.

We felt privileged walking down the stairs into the charming tavern. Lucky to have booked an evening table in the morning as many guests have to book a week in advance. There aren't that many tables.Aged beef, veal or bison are the hits on the menu and come in a sizzling plate. Cheese options including Fondue, rosti, and mac n'cheese represent the other "part" of the cow :)Steak was delicious. Best I've had in ages.

French bistronomy by chef Franck Chouette. Le Beausite is a historic restaurant with early 20th century architecture.
Very refreshing to be welcomed by people who are happy to work. Have been visiting a friend in Fribourg and discovered this unique place where food was simply delicious. Had a drink at the lounge located in the balcony before our dinner, the view on the place was superb from upstairs with a very creative barman. Try the fish backed in salt crust!Thank you very much for your review. Looking forward to welcoming you again.
