At first glance, this looked promising. Recommendations from the better guides, good reviews on the French version of trip advisor. A plateau of fruits de mer on an adjoining table looked great. The wine list revealed Mailly and Lallier champagnes, the latter in both full and half bottles - both great choices. And then the chef got involved. Maybe if we’d had those fruits de mer we’d have left happy, but what they managed to do to a half lobster and a brill left us very sad. The lobster, presumably fresh from their tank, was dried out and bland. The chef had, sadly, discovered a spiralizer before adding a salad. The brill was better but the accompaniments were reminsicent of something you might be served on a rainy winter’s day in Antwerp. Where was the innovative cooking the French trip advisor spoke of?Service, as some others have noted, is amateurish. Interest in customers non-existent. Who cares why we sent so much back? No-one at this restaurant. But we did like that Lallier...

Day 1 of our short break for our wedding anniversary. We are staying at the Hotel des Bains and this restaurant adjoins the hotel. There is another restaurant right beside La Table de Louis so it may be easy to get the other restaurant by mistake. The welcome was very friendly and they do offer English menus which does help when your French isn't fluent and you don't quite understand the way vegetables and sauces are cooked. The menu is varied if not extensive, 6 starters, mains and deserts as well as sea food menu. The restaurant is extremely clean and I personally like the eclectic decorations.Duck croquet for starters - fantastic. Guinea fowl for mains - fantastic. Cheese for desert - not fantastic but good (all the cheeses were very similar in flavour and texture and I would have preferred a little more variety. My wife had three different options and she was very happy with her choices. Portion sizes were just right - although I'm sure some would like a bit more. The vegetable selection was extensive, possibly 6 different options. You only had a small amount of each vegetable so again it was just right. Price wise, 67 euros for 3 courses, coffee and a litre bottle of water, no alcohol. Not the cheapest but I thought the quality was great so I feel the price was reasonable. On a cold and miserable Friday evening in early March the restaurant was nearly full so I would suggest booking during busier times.

Very nice dining experience in this little restaurant beside the harbour. The hosts were charming and attentive, the restaurant was calm despite being busy.We had a little starter of prawn puree with coconut milk, followed by superbly cooked scallops served on a piping hot plate with a delicious sauce. The main course of local white fish was really very well cooked and beautifully presented. I did not have dessert, but friends had what looked like bombes of chocolate mousse with pear and apricot which looked divine. A great meal.

We sneaked a table when they were fully booked (got lucky). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with translating the restaurant menu. The meat was top class although our medium rare steak was cooked a little more than I would have chosen. I had veal and my guests chose Beef and duck. All were part cooked and finished on the open wood fire.

Couleurs Saveurs

Reviewed By Phileas_Flogg

I really can't fault Couleurs Saveurs: the appearance of the restaurant was bright, airy and contemporary; the food was interesting, beautifully presented and confident; and the service was extremely competent, knowledgeable and well co-ordinated. At 37 euros for a 4 course meal, it was also extremely good value for money. This is a popular restaurant that fills up fast on a Saturday evening but never once did we see the service suffer!
