I visited Joe & Franks in Oak Lawn a few times during a recent stay in theChicago area. Usually, I get pastries or bread to enjoy for breakfast, but this time Iwas determined to bring some home with me. There is no restaurant in this location,just a well-stocked grocery and deli counter. They feature Polish and Lithuanian foods, so I purchased some frozen items and fresh sausage. When I mentioned that I was carrying my goodies back on an airplane, the clerk vacuum-packed the sausage for me (for a small fee). The jars of Polish mustard and beets were confiscated by the TSA (really didn't want to take the chance of them breaking in my checked bag) but they were inexpensive & next time I'll know better! The pastries & bread from local bakeries were worth the scrutiny. Prices and selection were very good; I can imagine that this place packs them in around the holidays.

A lot of fast food can be heavy and greasy. Jimmy John's is a healthy option when eating out. The bread, meat & veggies are all fresh and delicious. I always get the #1 Pepe with extra lettuce, onions & tomatoes, add dijon. I crave their sandwiches! Their bbq chips are great along with a big dill pickle. This restaurant was clean and the workers were friendly as usual. JJ's is known for fast order preparation. You can usually be in and out within 5 minutes.

One of the places near work I go for lunch at least 1 to 2 times per week. rarely crowded since they move the line through. People working there are so friendly and helpful. place has tables to eat in or take it with you.
