Buckeye Roadhouse

My wife and I had lunch at the Buckeye Roadhouse before our 1pm parking reservation at Muir Woods. It was the perfect location for us.I ordered their Wood Grilled Shrimp and Zoe's Bacon Cobb Salad, and my wife ordered their Buckeye Smoked Chicken Salad. Both salads were quite large, especially for a lunch. We found both salads to be very good and would order them again. The atmosphere at the Buckeye Roadhouse is a bit more formal than what we expected from the exterior, but I guess we should have expected that when we saw that they have valet parking. The valet parking attendant was very friendly and helpful. Our server was not as attentive as we would have liked.

We are regulars on the weekend with a 3 year old and a baby- grandparents, parents and the preschoolers. We go for early dinner at 4 when it’s quiet and love to sit outside. The staff are very supportive as it difficult with a toddler so we need fast service and this always happens. The food is delicious as is the wine. The menu caters for everyone. We sometimes eat here as a couple without the grandchildren and it is wonderful. Highly recommended.

The food was decent but the service was just wrong. Our salads were brought with our entrees and when we asked why they served them together, the curt response was “we didn’t realize you wanted them separately”. Our wine order was mixed up twice due to a lack of focus on the part of the waiter. I could continue but suffice it to say that nothing was admirable about the service. My guess is that the kitchen is not well organized either.
