Reviews on Contemporary food in Alcobendas, Community of Madrid, Spain. Alcobendas (Spanish pronunciation: [alkoˈβenðas]) is a city located in the Community of Madrid, central Spain. It is located roughly 13 kilometres (8 mi) north of Madrid and 7 kilometres (4 mi) from Barajas International Airport. It includes a central urban zone, a recently built district known as Valdelasfuentes, La Moraleja and El Soto de la Moraleja residential zones, the Valdelatas nature reserve and a light industrial estate. A huge business park called Valdelacasa for high-tech firms is being built. It is the location of a basketball museum organised by the Pedro Ferrándiz Foundation where the FIBA Hall of Fame is located.

As the Restaurante Hipodromo London is, according to tripadvisor, the second best eaterie in Sanse, where we live, and having been to many of the other places, we gave it a try. As a Brit the name isn't so attractive, but once inside the atmosphere was excellent- very livley, full of families, and definately part of Spanish culture. The decor alone has a "British" theme to it, and it leads to a nice, different dining experience. There is plenty of fine beer or other things to enjoy as an aperitivo beforehand: theplace would be great just as a pub! The service was terrific- very cheerful, enthusiastic and good fun despite the large number of clients they were looking after. The menú is really interesting with a number of fusion choices: the vegetable tempura with house salsa brava, for example, was splendid. The terrina de confit de pato, too, was excellent! The prices were most reasonable and we will be back! But we'll book first!Not a place for a quiet meal, but a great restuarant all the same! Give it a go!

Dishes were original in concept and attractive in presentation. The menú del dÃa is definitely the way to go with 80 Grados. Everything we tried was impeccable and the service was great. Make sure to get there early or a bit later for lunch if you want to snag a table, especially on a Friday!

Found via AroundMe just because we were in the vicinity, Gangarabia turned out to be an amazing experience. Amazing cooking with top quality ingredients and highly personalized service. An unrxpected jewel on the outskirts of Madrid. Highly recommended
