Asian restaurants you can find by the thousands, Chinese being the pioneers in offering the flavor of Asian cuisine going back to the golden sixties. Nowadays other Asian cultures find their ways to our lunch and dinner tables. Thai, Vietnamees, Japanese, you name it. Chinese is common, like döner or pizza. So it becomes a challenge to find a Chinese restaurant that offers that slightly different approach, that touch of an unknown Chinese province ending with -ing, flavors we never tasted before. It is a true challenge to find an escape to the commercial european flat take away we find around the corner. Well, I was told Palais Imperial was one of those, at least a special one, not a regular one. So I went for lunch, saw quite some Asian executives there, good sign but left disappointed. It is a chinese like many other, around the corner.

We found this quiet little Chinese restaurant whilst out on a evening stroll. This was a little gem, placed beside a Thai, a Balkan and another Chinese restaurant.A substantial meal for Four people with starters and main course, as well as drinks came to a very easy on the wallet total of euro65.The food was extremely tasty and the service very fast but not rushed, on a busy Sunday evening. Would love to return again and highly recommended and worth seeking out if you are in Brussels.

A wonderful, family-oriented buffet restaurant with a broad selection of Asian food, including teppan yaki / wok and self-grill. For me the unique selling point is the huge range of fresh seafood, including razor clams, large crabs, langouste and scallops. The service is attentive, the tables spacious and the house wine generously provided (a whole bottle per head). Not the cheapest buffet around, with Friday and Saturday nights coming in at â¬36 with alcoholic drinks, â¬31 with soft drinks. 10% less on week nights. I have been twice in the evenings, not yet at lunchtime which is much cheaper (â¬18 and â¬16 per head) but presumably with a more restricted choice of food. There's a good enough options for vegetarians but, alas, no tofu. But this is a minor quibble about an otherwise very enjoyable dining experience. Also being out-of-town, parking is no problem.
