On a friend's recommendation, we decided to try Good Taste for a take home meal. What a disappointment! We deliberately ordered favorite dishes to test flavors. The egg-drop soup was thin, watery and devoid of any flavor. The chicken chow main was tasteless and some of the chicken contained gristle. The egg rolls were unremarkable. The only plus went to the roast pork egg-foo young which was delicious and not the least bit greasy. One out of four ain't good!

I have been going to this restaurant for take out for many years. Prior to being in this location, it was once known as Golden Pond on Kinderkamack Road. Lately, the quality of the food and the prepartion is very incosistent. I think this is because of different people being in the kitchen and there is no set recipies they follow. I generally order a dish called spinach triple which contains chicken, beef, shrimp over spinach in a tasty sauce. Most times it is great. A couple of months ago, the portions of beef and shrimp were tiny, and, the shrimp appeared to be artificial shrimp. I ordered it again last night and while the portions and quality were good, this time it was loaded with garlic, which was never used in this dish before. The lady who is the owner does not speak very good english and at times you have to repeat what you are saying several times. Example: One time I told her to be certain what I was ordereing did not contain pork. In reading back the order, she said "and you want pork with it." I had to repeat myself three times...no pork. However, she is generally friendly and always greets you with a smile.

Ichiban Chinese Japanese restaurant on Main Street in Pearl River, N.Y. Has been a local staple for many years. The food is competent and very reasonable. Tonight, we had MuShu Pork (too heavy on the sauce) which came with four large pancakes. The large portion was more than enough for two adults. Paired with a soup starter, one egg drop and one wonton (which were the best we've had in awhile) we ran out of room for more. Our check came with sliced oranges which were icy cold and very refreshing.Next time, we will ask to have our dirty dishes removed prior to serving the dessert.Otherwise, we were very pleased.
