Built over 100 years ago, itâs been a family home, a post-Prohibition liquor store and a myriad of modern businesses. The only consistency is the timelessness of the house and the stories it contains, as itâs reinvented once again into a neighborhood gath
We went with family to the Magnolia House restaurant on South Lake Avenue in Pasadena in California. We basically just had a bottle of their house white wine together with half a dozen starter dishes. These were quite highly flavoured with hot sauces which suited all of us. Service was friendly and efficient. The bill was a modest $100.

The experience matches the title of this review. The neighborhood is typical of Pasadena along the parade route, a little pedestrian but seems to be safe. Parking could be a challenge. There is a $3 parking lot in back. The restaurant decor is retro and could use a touch up, but this is made up by the radiance of the staff.
We really enjoy our visits to San Marino Cafe. It's an easy and casual "order at the counter" spot. There are many breakfast and lunch choices of wonderful sandwiches, salads, soups, and specials with a somewhat Mediterranean or Middle East influence. Eat inside or outside. Of course there are coffee drinks, and even gelato. Such a lovely relaxing atmosphere.
If you have not been able to get any carbohydrates before your visit, you will be offered decent coffee, sandwiches and different sweets.Plenty of outdoor seating in the pleasant California climate.

This restaurant has had a serious problem with service. Cold coffee. Forgetting items. Etc. etc. This was a delightful experience today. The coffee was very hot and delivered right away. The food was delivered correctly. And, as usual, the food and coffee is super delicious. Iâm so happy theyâve gotten their act together.

Exquisitely enchanting experience within an historic setting along tree-lined streets, this European-inspired restaurant offers welcoming service and delicious dining within elegant, but not stuffy, surroundings. Floral arrangements and music delight, with seating on the garden front patio or within the intimate, elegant, wood-paneled library room adorned with frescoed ceiling. Enjoy a white peach Mimosa or Sangria with your signature Rosemary & Currant Bread house specialty. Finish with a decadent dessert. As you will not want to return to reality by departing, wander into the attached Gourmet Market & Gift Shop to complete this truly enjoyable experience. I am anxious to revisit this lovely family-owned venue.
