Always feel at home in here. Friendly staff and great sandwiches . Cozy on a cold day. Always park in the big car park behind so is very handy.

Went here with friends for afternoon tea. We was disappointed with what we got,cake selection was poor.But we where all horrified to see a cat eating from the plates outside where the tables had not been cleared away. Then it decided it would drink from the milk jug. This is absolutely disgusting and totally unhygienic.The tables where not cleared away all the time we was there.I am almost certain that I will never return here ever again.I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with your afternoon tea, we would have happily spoken to you at the time when we would have had the opportunity to address your concerns. As I mentioned in my email to you the cat doesn't belong to the tearoom or the log cabin site but it visits us because some customers like to feed it. We do try and clear our tables in a timely manor and I will remind the waitresses of this. Hygiene is of course very important to us and all our dishes are handwashed, rinsed and then put through a commercial dishwasher.

Called in for breakfast which was fab- smashed avocado on sourdough bread with poached eggs - just wonderful. Efficient and friendly service. Seating inside and out. Premises are part of the the old fruit market with little/sensitive renovation - unique ! Great place for breakfast and meals throughout the day- they do some great home made soups.

We are frequent visitors to Hull and I have to say this is one of the best places for a light lunch. Food is excellent quality and teas and coffees top notch. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and surroundings.

I find this a great place for lunch. The menu is limited but there is a good selction of pizzas to keep most tastes happy and their pizzas are really very good indeed! Service is usually quick and easy and food is brought to the table in good time which is why its a popular work-time lunch venue for me as there is nothing worse than having 1 hour for lunch and waiting 45 minutes for your food to arrive which is not the case here!Hey thanks for the lovely review. We have been working hard on really improving our speed of service recently as we know how important it is for people on a lunch break. Feel free to call ahead with an order if you like and we can have it ready for your arrival (a bold claim maybe! but we'll be pretty close I'm sure!) Thanks again.

I go to Simples quite often for lunch and find it a really nice place to eat. On a nice day it is great to sit outside as there are lots of tables. The breakfast is really good and there are some nice toasted sandwiches as well. Maybe the only advice is a slightly more varied menu - I rememeber one of my first visits some time ago and there was a special which was a pie, veg and potatoes/chips and this was lovely! Something similar on the menu would go down well for me.

Having already visited the place by way of a surprise a few weeks back, a return was made today, more due to escaping the pouring rain and finding shelter. It was smack bang in the middle of the lunchtime rush so I wasn't optimistic of getting a place for my wife and myself. Sure enough, not a spare table available but was asked if we didn't mind sharing a table with another couple. We did, and experienced first class service by the efficient and busy waiting staff. Just light bites on this occasion, hot sandwich coffee.A bustling venue with preparation and cooking of food visible to all. A lively atmosphere and a general feelgood environment. Pricing more than reasonable for the food on offer.Seek the place out if you can, you won't be disappointed. When good places like this start up in Hull, for some inexplicable reason they seem to not be around for too long. I hope this place bucks the trend and is around for a long while.

Recently visited this cafe and it was actually perfect. The service was impeccable and they made us feel welcome. The coffee was great and plentiful. However the food, oh my, the food was incredible for such a small establishment. The menu and its items were put together carefully and brilliantly and was perfectly cooked. We have already planned to come back another day later in the evening for the live music and a few drinks. An absolute gem of a cafe and perfect hosts.
