I stopped out of curiosity and was happy I did! Yes, parking can be troublesome but it is worth the small effort. You order and pay at a window in the kitchen, seat yourself and then get served. The place was very clean. The young lady who took the order was friendly and knowledgeable. A gentleman in the kitchen took the time to thank me for stopping in. I got the order to go. The aroma made me sample it before I left the parking lot! It was moist, lean and probably the best pork barbecue I have eaten. It was smokey but not overwhelmingly so....just perfect! I got the regular sauce and it was tasty even by itself. Being a true Southerner I had the sides of collards and mac and cheese with cornbread. It was a wonderful meal!!! If you go to Williamston I highly recommend eating there!

The pork BBQ was delicious with a smoky sweet flavor that made sauce unnecessary. The service was fast and the staff was attentive. I ate with a very large party and they handled our orders quickly and correctly. The most pleasant surprise was the brunswick stew that was the best I have tasted in a long time with a mixture of sweet, smoky, and spicy flavors. I bought another quart of the stew and enjoyed some of it at work for the next two days. My coworkers all had to have a taste when they smelled it heating in the microwave and, consequently, a number of them have visited Southern Smoke since that time.

Iâve had the ribs, bbq, Brunswick stew and the brisket. Everything has been great. Very generous portions. They have 2 sauces and I like them both, but prefer the sweet. Best bargain and taste in the Anderson and surrounding area. By the way, I believe they have 5 trucks that serve as well as the restaurant.

pro:I have the pulled pork sandwich plate whenever I order here. The meat has a delicious smokey flavor, and the portion is generous. The sides are good.con:The place seems to only be open for lunch and only on week days; seems to be catering to the Lockheed lunch hours only. Seating is at large tables - don't expect a cozy booth.
