Best Barbecue restaurants nearby. Discover the best Barbecue food in Milwaukee. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for Barbecue restaurants near you.. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is perhaps best known for its famous breweries and the Major League Brewers, but there's more to the city than beer and baseball. Milwaukee is rich in historical and cultural attractions, making it the perfect place for a weekend of exploring. Check out the newly expanded Milwaukee Art Museum or the Mitchell Park Horticultural Society, which hosts an annual show of the same flora and fauna seen in Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. Those interested in the city's history can visit the grand Pabst Mansion, former home of one of the city's famous beer barons, or the Milwaukee Public Museum, to see what life was like in Old Milwaukee. If the kids are along, don't miss the Milwaukee County Zoo or the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. Of course a trip to the "Genuine American City" would not be complete without a tour of the Miller Brewing Company and a Brewers game at Miller Park.

Love, love those oysters. Three sources on this visit. All delightful. Properly chucked and served quickly on ice. Cocktail sauce was a little thin. Too much ketchup not enough chili sauce. Horseradish was freshly shredded. Wine list was well-thought out. Prices were reasonable. Range of choice was terrific. Odd to serve the sparkling Cava in a white wine glass. The pettillance had no starting point unlike in a fluted glass. I had the crabcake (2) platter with red beans/rice, cole slaw and sweet potato fries. All very good. My only complaint was that the cakes were deep-fried. Very dark color. The breading was only on the outside so the crabmeat was ultra moist. Not very hot either. I would have preferred it sautéed. Beans and slaw were perfect. My nephew had the Frogmore stew. The broth was on point. Andouille slices with stewed mussels and chicken. Great toast points to soak up the broth. Five stars!A side of grits and light brown gravy was superb. The third entree was buried in dirty rice. A melange of NOLA favorites. She loved it. For dessert we tried the Coca-Cola cake and salted caramel bread pudding. Five stars. Drink service was slow to irritating. They are losing money on this aspect. A second bartender would pay for itself in an hour. Our server was Mike. Friendly and knowledgeable, he was always asking to be helpful.

We went for a late lunch. The restaurant was not crowded. Our server was helpful and patient in explaining the menu. I ordered the brisket. They gave a choice of lean, medium or fatty. I chose lean. It came out with about 1/2" of fat on the meat. I asked the server to replace it. The chef came out and gave me leaner slices and explained that he had not gotten the order wrong, all cows have fat and where this cut comes from....blah, blah, blah. It was served with 2 sides, (home made chips and creamy cole slaw, YUM!) and one slice of bread. 5 different sauces are table side so you can choose your barbecue flavor. My husband had wings. They had a dry rub and were very flavorful. We would go back.

We were very happy we stumbled across the smoke shack while walking near the Public Market this summer. We ordered the pulled pork plate and sandwich, enjoyed the pork belly and mac and cheese(mixed is awesome). I really liked the coleslaw, creamy with the right amount of twang. Kids had a cinnamon roll for dessert and absolutely loved it. Great spot and a cool atmosphere...the patio looked like a good hangout too, but the rain kept us inside. Thanks for joining us! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed your time with us. I hope we have the opportunity to serve you again soon!
