This restaurant in the 16s Yacht club and seemed to have a big attendance of patrons ... My husband had the roast beef which was very dry and vegetables also in his opinion weren’t the best...I had the fish and chips which were very average.. $ 37.00 for the two meals..Apart from the location I think the food is very overrated..I don’t think we will be in a rush to go back any time soon....Hi Linda, thank you for providing us with your feedback about your recent dining experience. We understand that your roast and fish & chips weren't completely satisfactory, and apologise that they weren't satisfactory. Please know that your feedback has been shared with our team for consideration in the future.

The very best experience to celebrate my husbands 60th.We selected The Gunyah Hotel primarily for its modern open and airy aspect, both in the bar and restaurant, overlooking Lake Macquarie.Provided with a long table for 18. Had tapas to start while people mingled. Ordered and received excellent mains and staff had refrigerated the cake and lit candles ( some of which they provided) and presented same to table when requested with plates and spoons. This whole experience couldn’t have gone better.Susan

Valentine Bowling Club

This place was booked as an all-catered event for my sister-in-law's sixtieth birthday. We were provided with a large upstairs dining area accessible by stairs or, thankfully, a medium-sized lift/elevator.We were provided with a range of delicious, succulent foods smorgasbord style and a bar with club-priced drinks within. As it was a joint 60th party for identical twin sisters and two extended families, we were a little underwhelmed that, considering the size of the booking and the room, no dais or PA was supplied even when requested with the booking. Disappointing too that a couple of extra trestle tables were not supplied as both ladies received many gifts on the night and had to put them on the floor against a wall ... NOT ideal. The food waitstaff were good. The bar-staff were fair but one of the two occasionally went away to work downstairs. Clearing used glassware from dining tables was not a priority. It was, despite some drawbacks, a lovely venue ... great lake views in worthy surroundings. Good parking. Great food. Low-priced drinks.
