Food was just okay for those who just want to hang out outside and no other place to go to . Problem was that the sauce used in the pizza is the same in their nachos and tacos . And their blend of their in sauce was too sweet , it's like food was for kids .

We had lunch at KUBO on May 2017 before we headed to Boracay. It was a great relief to find this restaurant because the night we arrived, we could not find a good place to eat other than McDo and Jollibee. The restaurant is made mostly of bamboo, and thereâs an artificial coconut tree in the middle. Open-air dining, wooden tables good for large groups, and monobloc chairs. Itâs the typical local restaurant, and itâs easy to feel at home.Dine at KUBO if you want fresh, delicious seafood and local dishes. One of the must-order is chicken binakol, quite similar to chicken tinola but with a twist. Binakol uses coconut water, and I was told they cook it in bamboo for more flavor. The prawns were big and fresh and perfectly grilled, and the oysters were definitely highly recommended. We also tried some grilled lapu-lapu, stuffed squid, and pinakbet. The stuffed squid was tasty, I consumed about half of it for myself alone.There were only three groups when we dined, because that was lunch time. I think the restaurant gets more guests at night. The service was not slow, because we understand the food we ordered were plenty and needed preparation. For me, the price was reasonable considering the taste and the serving size.

I can highly recommend Herbert's Bar as the best place to hang out in Kalibo. Perhaps still Aklan's best kept secret, it will surprise and delight you when you find it - and keep you going back every time you're in town. There's a pool table, a darts board, a children's play area - even a mini golf course. Then, of course, there's the host - Herbert himself - who will make absolutely sure that you have a good time.
