Decided to eat here as the Fort area was in blackout mode, they obviously had a generator. The Taphouse is located in the old hospital building along with a host of other restaurants and shops. It is ideally located on the ground level which has a huge courtyard with tables and chairs - just perfect as a oasis after walking round the fort in the heat. We ordered a R-n-R burger and a couple of beers the burger was fine but fairly tasteless but the beers were cold and served in a cold glass which is a bit of a change for around here. Not the cheapest with all the taxes added in.

I was looking for a venue to host a Stag Lunch for a close friend of mine who is getting married later this month. We were planning to get out of town so I was looking for a venue off the Southern express highway in the Galle area.I called up Scarllett Skyy Galle to organise this a few days prior to the day, and right from the start the manager Pushpakumara and Chef Sesha were so accommodating and put together a fabulous menu.We had a few guest from overseas so they wanted to try out the always talked about "seafood" Sri lanka has to offer - So I was thinking a "Seafood platter." When we arrived at the venue - our table was laid- the ambiance was set and the view was to die for. What came next was 10 well curated and presented Seafood platters which made everyone just stare at them for a good 5 minutes before digging in! All the produce was cooked to perfection and tasted extremely fresh and flavourful.All the staff were super friendly and attentive and the cocktails were a nice mix of exotic and tropical. Making it a match made in paradise for our meal.Everyone at the table was so impressed that they had nothing but praise when the Chef came out to our table to say hello and see how we were.After lunch, we were all served a complimentary berry sorbet to cleanse our palates.For most of us at the Lunch this was what Sri Lankan culinary and hospitality is at it's best! Had a few drinks and food up there and really enjoyed the atmosphere! My bartenders Tharindu and Sajith were really friendly and had great suggestions. The oysters were really fresh and really tasty, and the Tiger Prawns were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! So creamy, fresh, and practically melted in your mouth! This is an awesome place with outstanding staff!

What a find - the freshest fish and shellfish simply cooked with a sauce that compliments in a beach side setting. Great ambience and a very relaxed place to chill with a very pleasant owner. Non fish dishes available but we stuck with the seafood! If you pre- order, lobster may be available - have it, if it is, you wonât regret it! Cocktails and desserts are also available. Prices are reasonable too

This is a small coffee/gelato shop with the walls of the fort. The only food is tacos but they are very good.Three tacos for 1200 rupee with a wide array of ingredients. It was very hot and humid outside and the iced lattes and tacos were enjoyed in the cool environment.

Someone recommended Tequila Mockingbird so we went there for drinks before having dinner at âA minute by Tuk Tukâ next door. The bartender did a fabulous job with the cocktails. We all ordered different fancy sounding cocktails and every single one of them was really good. Their chef did a great job with the pastas as well. Very accommodating staff and reasonable prices. My wife and myself are currently holidaying in Sri Lanka and earlier today we paid a very brief visit to Galle.Our visit centred around the impressive Port area and the various British and Dutch buildings. One of these was the Old Dutch Hospital where we decided to stop for a Cappuccino at the Sugar Bistro & Wine Bar.This proved a good move as the staff were most welcoming and our Cappuccinos were amongst the best we have enjoyed on our holiday. We had the chicken and aubergine roti with curry dishes (canât remember the names) and wow they were amazing! Weâve had some great food in Sri Lanka but this was the best so far! Lovely views and great cocktails!
